The other one is technically not wrong but no one would say it like that. It would be equivalent to saying 'give me a slap daddy'. People just use the word spank, or else they would say sla me I suppose (meaning hit me)

Anyway Dutch is certainly not a serious language, that much is true

Can you speak German?

And was English easy for you?

I can speak a little bit of German but that doesn't come automatically with speaking Dutch. English is certainly the easiest language to learn for a Dutch person if you don't count Afrikaans or perhaps Frysian (German probably sounds closer to Dutch than English but is grammatically more complex), and conversely Dutch is probably the closest language to English too if you don't count dialects etc. But I didn't find learning French or German much harder. In my experience the difference really only starts to become significant if you're dealing with languages with completely different roots. It is also harder to judge because learning a foreign language makes learning other foreign languages easier too, so you can't always separate it: learning one European language contributes to learning all the others, unless maybe it's a super funky one like Finnish but that's the different roots problem again

Cheers pal x

I can pick out bits of Portuguese now based on my Spanish. Feels good. German just looks similar to Dutch for me which is why I asked. I did hear Dutch is the easiest to learn for English people.

STERKTE!

Don't get me started on the Brits:
adding A's and R's where none exist (Laarger)
dropping aitches where they do exist
adding redundant leading questions to the end of statements (isn't it?) most noticeable with BBC reporters.
I'm weary already just thinking about it.

That's mainly Londoners who do that.

Of the two I'd be more concerned with the former. If I'm buying a battery or something with one I'd certainly make my decision based on whether or not it would blow up in my face, despite the length of time it might last!

It's explosive? Oh yeah, but it's durable too.
Oh. Great.
But, you know, it is explosive?
Oh yeah.
But durable.
Right.
