I woke up at 330am to watch the game or get the highlights of the Us Women's team vs Portugal.

It looks like it might end in a tie.

I don't know footy rules yet and how they differ when it comes to World Cup.


Edit: They did end up tying but also advancing?!?!?!

They're still in the group stage, where each group has 4 teams who play each other and the two best go through to the knockout stage where after each round of matches you get kicked out if you lose until only one team is left. Which teams in the group stage get to go through is determined by how many wins/losses/draws you have (win is 3 points, draw 1, loss 0) and if there's a tie in points between teams they look at the net number of goals (goals is +1, goals conceded is -1). So you can tie in a game but if you still comparatively do better than 2 of the other teams, you advance
