I finally got around to this. I love the original, and this did not disappoint.

I'm a Timothée Chalamet fan, or at least I was till he started dating one of the Kardashians.  :poop:

When I hear Chalamet, I think of this song (even though it's not completely the same):

Hahaha, classic Tim and Eric.

I don't think I've ever seen anything with Chalamet in it, but I did think the Wonka trailer looked cute so I might see that if I get the chance.

Never really been interested in Dune, never seemed to be enough of the whimsy I look for in my sci-fi and fantasy. But I could be totally wrong of course.

Quote from: Guybrush on Sep 11, 2023, 05:02 AMI think The Dead Zone is okay, but a little uneven maybe as the political assassination plot towards the end feels a little tacked on. But maybe it's like that in Stephen King's book too.

I actually prefer Brainstorm to The Dead Zone.

As I was watching this, I went on google so I could look up the book. I'm definitely going to read the book because I feel like it might flesh out things a bit more but sadly the ending is still similar. I don't mind it too much though.

I'd give it

the book is probably four to five stars. I like the concept. They also made it a tv series that I feel like I used to watch but never knew about the original movie/book. I may revisit the series.

I also watched Polite Society recently as well.

I loved this movie so much. It has a Scott Pilgrim feel to it. This sister wants to be a stuntwoman but her older sister is artsy. She ends up being courted to be married off and the younger sister doesn't trust the new suitor and his mother. She ends up gathering up her friends to fight off and find out what nefarious things are going on. I highly recommend giving this a viewing.

I was this cool the whole time.

Anyone seen Moonage Daydream?

Only God knows.

Not yet. I bought it digitally when it came out and then promptly forgot about it.

And then I've kept on forgetting about it.

Talk to Me

I went into this movie completely blind. I didn't watch a trailer but heard good things about it. The buzz for it was pretty high. All the actors in this movie were Aussie. I had one minor issue but it happens. Black characters don't tend to just go along with shenanigans in horror movies but I guess if most of her friends are white and she's been raised around them it changes her attitude towards situations but that's the only minor detail that took me out of the movie lol. I know there are plenty of foolish black characters in horror movies but in certain movies they tend to put up more of a resistance to shenanigans than this character. Teen goes to party participates in shenanigans and all hell breaks loose. I love this movie and I ended up finding out that there is a sequel already in development and they are going to call it Talk 2 Me. I hope it acts more of a pre-quel to explore more lore around this mysterious hand. I won't spoil the movie any.

I just noticed this.

I'm glad he's dating one of the Kardashians. They need to continue their white boy arc and date slightly differently.

I was this cool the whole time.

I'm still not over Travis Barker marrying one of them.

Yeah not too bad. 7/10 sort of territory for me. Nothing particularly earth shattering but a nice well crafted film based mainly around the timeline of a school teacher and some of her extra curricular actvities.

Watched the whole 2 hours and 39 minutes of this last night. It was not good. Surprising since Austin Butler almost won an Oscar for it.

I've never seen that one but I'm not a big Baz Luhrmann fan on the whole. I think in a lot of ways his films seem like they'd be up my alley, but his style just goes overboard and tips the scale in favor of unbearable cheese to me.

Back to the Future.

Believe it or not I had never seen it.

It was cute.
