Good post Big T but I would say that 91 is definitely old  Chuck Berry was just a freak of nature to be performing at that age.

Quincy was the music genius behind MJ. I know he did a lot of film scores and also jazz music. One of the most musical music guys of the past century surely.

A definite legend of the industry.

RIP to an absolute giant.

Aside from his work with MJ, he also composed the instrumental of the Fresh Prince theme, and this iconic track used in Austin Powers.

Definitely an icon of a lot of us 90s kids' childhood even if we weren't necessarily aware of who he was.

What if we just replaced oxygen with swag?

Chuck stayed in the game a bit too long, unfortunately. Much like B.B. King, his later live shows were a sad mess.

Fuck I thought it was 81?? 91 is old yes. D'oh!

RIP Tony Todd.

Candyman scared me so much as a kid and the social commentary that it makes which I only appreciated as an adult.

I was this cool the whole time.

The sad part about that story being that no one checked in on him for 22 days and his body just laid there.

I was this cool the whole time.

Jimmy Carter, the 39th US president, dies at age 100

Perhaps not a great president, but a very great man, with an honorable, inspirational, and excellent post-presidency.

Rest in Peace, Jimmy.

I like the work Jimmy did with Habit for Humanity. Great man indeed.

I was this cool the whole time.

His time as President was lackluster for the most part, but there were some bright spots...

Homebrewing Community Remembers President Jimmy Carter

QuoteOn October 14, 1978, President Carter signed bill H.R. 1337, which contained Amendment 5354 sponsored by Senator Alan Cranston (D-CA) and Representative William Steiger (R-WI). That amendment created an exemption from taxation of beer brewed at home for personal or family use. Essentially, it lifted regulations imposed by Prohibition laws over 50 years previous.

R.I.P.

The best Jimmy story was when he was out on his fishing boat and there was a rogue swamp rabbit that angrily swam towards his boat. Carter swung his paddle to shoo it away. He told his advisors about it, and they did not believe him. But fortunately there was a White House photographer taking pictures of the trip at the time and captured the rabbit in a photo.

As one might expect, the media/press blew it out of proportion and used it to mock Carter.

For those that have seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail, I've always had the headcanon that the violent and dangerous 'killer rabbit' in that movie was the same rabbit that went after Jimmy in his boat.

And I'd be remiss if I failed to include this classic xkcd comic.

I'd forgotten about the "killer rabbit" story.

And I just remembered about the connection Jimmy Carter had with the Allman Brothers Band, which seemed very cool to me at the time...
