It depends on how far I'm going vs if I'm in a car but I will wear a onesie put in public. I'm not trying to impress anyone else like I'm a fashion model or something.

I do agree with your opinion on socks with sandals though one of my pet peeves that I will always make jokes at someone else's expense for them wearing that combo.

I was this cool the whole time.

I was a punk kid as a teenager so I never really had any problem with nose piercings or tramp stamps or gauges/plugs. Not everyone wants to be classy.

But I'm also with you on socks with sandals. That doesn't look cool or punk rock on anyone.

Would just like to say there is a difference between socks and sandals and socks and sliders.

Socks and sliders is fine.

Only God knows.

The older I get the more I learn to not give a single shit about what someone is wearing.

It's the same thing to us but by all means wear whatever you want.

It's funny because as people get older or I should say certain people they get more picky and judgemental about what other people wear.

With me, as I get older I don't care what others think about what I wear but I will still happily roast someone in public for what they are wearing. Of course I pick and choose who to tease. If I feel like that person might be able to take a joke/light ribbing. I will do it but if they look stressed out. I will keep those thoughts to myself.

I was this cool the whole time.

What about Crocs and socks?

Edit: I don't smoke much, only really when I drink alcohol but I'm going to try my best to give them up when I'm drinking because the issues I'm having with my lungs. I think it would be sensible even if it is infrequent.

I tried to get off the drunken cigs before by vaping instead and found I would vape 24/7 and was spending more money on them than cigs so I gave that up. Hopefully when I go out to drink next weekend I can be strong enough to stay away from them!

My wife loves crocs and I hate them. I always joke that I'm going to round up all her crocs and create a bon fire.

She just got some Lisa Frank crocs recently. Last Xmas I bought her some weed crocs but yeah crocs and socks are just as bad. If your feet are that cold just put on shoes? I feel like sliders, crocs and sandals are just summer shoes. When it's too cold to wear them just don't.

I only give my own personal criticism toward others' fashion if it is asked for specifically. Otherwise if I don't have anything nice to say I don't say anything at all.

I have my general preferences of course, but speaking as someone whose main style is floral flowy dresses pretty much all day every day I'm in no position to actively critique others.

I do have a lot of friends who are into fashion from my time working in a clothing store. I think my input is more appreciated in a more fashion conscious context than just everyday whatever clothes. I still try to offer constructive criticism when I do comment on others' clothes, try to focus on offering alternative suggestions rather than poo pooing anyones style choices.

I don't really care what people wear either, so if I seem judgmental here, it's more for the sake of entertaining discussion. I don't actually mind people having fun with metal detectors 😄

Some things are lame, but I'm fine with people being lame unless it's clearly the wrong time and place for it. Like one shouldn't wear one's onesie to an office job interview.. though I'd be amused if someone did.

Wearing a onesie to a job interview would certainly leave an impression and make you stand out.

As far as the OP is concerned, I don't smoke or vape. I have friends who use weed vape pens but I don't think it's all that bad.

I was this cool the whole time.

weed vapes r ok, it's weed

nicotine vapes on the other hand are gonna kill me very soon if I don't stop immediately and it's been worrying me the symptoms I've been developing this weekend

Is there some underlying health issue here that you haven't mentioned?

Only God knows.

I used to smoke cigarettes when drinking, mostly when partying on the weekend, for many years. Then for a stretch of 3-4 months I smoked daily, mostly due to a shitty period in my life. When my life improved I decided to stop smoking and using a vape (without nicotine) was a good way to ween myself of it. Vaped for a few months, mostly when going out. Didn't like the whole feel too much and coughed much more than when I smoked cigarettes, so I stopped altogether.

.

You likely had the wattage or nicotine content too high. I definitely coughed more and felt worse from smoking.

Only God knows.

IMO the best way to stop smoking is to just stop smoking. Why trade one bad habit for another?

I quit nearly 20 years ago. Around that time, a bunch of us quit because a new law prohibited smoking in pubs and restaurants and made life more difficult for smokers in various ways.

I believe I was the only one who in our group of friends who just quit cold turkey. Most of the rest either tried smoking less and didn't manage to quit or they traded smoking for snus/nuff.

This stuff:

These products exploded around that time in Norway.

Of course the problem then is you can use snus/snuff anywhere almost 24/7 so it's easy to do a lot, becomes hugely expensive and even more difficult to quit.

So they've been snusing and smoking for years and years.

Quitting smoking cold turkey isn't as hard as people imagine or make it out to be.
