I have been down and out for about a week now, I started running about 3-6 miles a day for a week straight and got a shin splint.

I bought some cool running shoes but they are those fabric type where the foot touches the ground more as you walk or run. I guess going from a normal comfy shoe to those can give a person shin splints, and it did :(

last movement day was a week ago

Been trying to lift weights as much as possible but only twice this week

Last night before bed I did realize I can do the exercise bike, I did that at teh gym and it didn't hurt the shin. So I am doing that today

Iits been like 10 days since last exercise now, partly because of back pain from this intense deadlift session. I was worried, but it's very nearly all good now so I'm gonna get some exercise in tomorrow.

Still lifting with the hernia.

Progress has gone way up on dips and pullups. Just to see where I was at I did 110kg x 10 x 10 on squats last week. Was fine. I just want it fixed now because I'm holding back and I really want to push myself. It's really frustrating.

Bench has gone down to 5 x 100kg which isn't surprising considering I haven't lifted 100kg in about three months out of fear I will make the hernia worse. Anyway because I'm a silly cunt I did it last week and was OK.

I cna concentrate curl 28kg with dumbbells for 8 reps 😎

Holy shit, @jimmy jazz. That's some crazy curling and huge heavy squat volume. I think the hernia is making you stronger if anything!

Appreciate it mate. I'm not going higher in weight now. Not until I'm 100% repaired.

I got a workout injury a while ago. While doing a deadlift, I felt something go wonky in my back. Since then, an ache has flared up and made me stiff whenever I strain my back too much.

I strained it again this Saturday during a crossfit workout charity event for cancer. It's so annoying.

Today I saw a physiotherapist (?) specialized in sports related injuries who gave some advice. For now, no more deadlifts. He also checked my mobility and says it's poor due to short hamstrings and so my window for proper form is narrow with deadlifts anyways. He suggested squats instead.

For now, I can exercise, but without straining my back too much. Deadlifts are out as mentioned, but I can squat lower weights. The best is apparently lots of walking in the forest. I guess uneven ground is good? I asked if I could jog instead and that's fine. So I guess it's cardio time.

Everyone seems to get injured on deadlifts.

I think it's an overrated exercise tbh.

Use light weights and be careful bros.
