No I mentioned the health of the kids before anything to do with the NHS and then I also said kids shouldn't be denied healthcare.

Yes, I mentioned that as well. Of course it's a horrendous drain. And it's preventable. But I didn't mention it before the health of the kids and I'd rather kids get care than not. That's why I said do something before it happens and not just ignore it and hope for the best.

This is not the way we do discussion on these forums. You're new here and not that familiar. It may be understandable, but when you have time I'd appreciate it if you'd check out our visions / goals and rules threads.

I'm in no way scared of saying it's not a good idea to procreate with your cousin.

But here's the reality: You do not care about these kids. It's kind of besides the point that your solution would not work. If you actually cared, you'd advocate for more social spending, and a more compassionate approach to immigration law.

You would not think of it as a "horrendous drain".

Also, it's not that you ignore it. It's that you look at the data and see that it is solving itself over time.

Yeah so say that then instead of posting abuse and throwing accusations of racism around.

And we've been through the social spending and immigration thing before. I already have said we need more investment in that area but if we don't have the money to spend then what can we do? Shake the magic money tree? It is a horrendous drain because it's entirely preventable and continues because of ignorance. Not sure how letting more people in is going to tackle this particular problem.

It's hard to watch that documentary and not feel bad for the children. It's easily the hardest thing about it, watching those kids go increasingly blind and deaf and the frustration when there's no real medical help for them. The way I know @jimmy jazz, I'm sure he cares.

To my mind, it's great that it's resolving itself and cousin marriages are in decline. I do think it would be good to prohibit, not because of British pakistani culture specifically, but because in any culture or community, the health of families will generally be better if mom and dad are not closely related. In England and perhaps elsewhere, maybe as the cultures surrounding it decline, passing it into law would become less controversial.

Perhaps unwarranted, but I could add that such marriages are illegal here in Norway.
