Thoughts on his new single?

Best thing he's did in 20 years imo. Got the humour and spark to his flow that he had decades ago.

Still reckon his album will be shit but, decent.

Only God knows.

I loved it. I love how everyone is losing their shit about the Megan thee stallion line, I'm baffled as to how people think that's a diss lol.

It's sparked me starting his discography. When I look at it I don't think I have listened to anything from encore onwards other than the odd tune here and there so this will be exciting.

I'm looking forward to the album, I am being cautiously hopeful lol.

Yeah I liked it a lot as well and this is coming from someone who has absolutely slated him for the past decade or so.

The Megan line is more of a pun than a diss imo.

Eminem is frustrating for me because there is no doubt he is one of the all time great rappers, but his music just isn't that good. I hope he proves me wrong and releases a genuinely strong album.

Only God knows.

I enjoyed it. Really loved all the nods to the past in the video, really takes me back to watching his rise in real time back in the early 2000s. Even the absolutely nonsensical transgender line is growing on me as classic Slim Shady dumbness.

"stressed" is just "desserts" spelled backwards

I thought it was just okay. To JJ's point, it's probably the best thing he's done in a long time, I would say since MMLP2. To Lexi's point, all the nostalgia pandering did endear me to the track, as I'd never thought I'd see the return of 'rapboy'.  :laughing:

It wasn't just Eminem nostalgia though - when I was younger, my parents used to have this '80s Hits' tape that I'd listen to frequently. Of course, one of the tracks was Steve Miller Bands' "Abracadabra", so hearing this track both sample it and riff on the chorus was quite nostalgic for me as well.

So overall, I enjoyed it, but it didn't floor me. I think Dua Lipa's "Houdini" was better.  :laughing:

this next eminem album better have about 5-8 boom bap hiphop songs on it

the new song trash juice;

those goofy first singles for okay when I was 14 years old but I'm 35 years old now, the shit is beyond corny;

I think unfortunately, Eminem, like many once young artists who find massive success is now wealthy and well-off. He's completely comfortable. He's no longer that young, hungry kid who grew up in Detroit, fighting for scraps of relevance. While he certainly can still rap, it's been obvious for a long time that the fire is no longer in his belly. I think he's happy to coast on the rest of his career in cruise control - because regardless of the real quality of his next record, he's gonna rake in the cash.
