I've probably seen Waterworld at least 5 times. But probably not since the year 2000. I remember it as a relatively big movie back in my teens, even though I'm not sure critics ever liked it.

I actually also really liked The Postman when I saw it way back. I'm gonna guess it doesn't hold up.

Critics never liking it is an understatement.

It's a universally panned movie that they hated and the budget for the movie was outrageous for what they ended up producing.

I was this cool the whole time.

I also liked The Postman, though Karen did not. Never saw Waterworld. Costner doesn't quite get movie lengths/audience attention spans, does he? I mean, I loved Dances with Wolves, but even then it is a stretch. Let's not forget Wyatt Earp. What Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer did with 2 hours Costner stretched to 3, and I know which movie I prefer.

Watched this a few nights ago, as 'twere on the box. I enjoyed it a lot. Being based on a true story, there probably wasn't much they could do to fuck it up, but Keira Knightley shone, loved to see Matt Smith again and a rather criminally underused Rhys Ifans.

Voodoo Island (1957)

:2stars:

B&W horror flick about voodoo. A wealthy hotel developer hires a celebrity myth-buster to help him look into the disappearance of 3 of his employees who vanished on a surveying trip to an uninhabited island. One of those films where nothing much of interest happens throughout the story until almost the end, and even then it isn't enough to justify the time spent watching.

I'll watch it ASAP!

Throw your dog the invisible bone.

I had to see Captain America 4 before I got spoiled since I'm chronically online.

I enjoyed it. It was a bit of a slow burn at parts but it definitely reminded me of winter soldier. I wish they would have kept the Red Hulk under wraps instead of showcasing it in all the trailers and promo materials.

Heretic.  Loved it.  Hugh Grant is such an affable psycho.  Chloe East and Sophie Thatcher (who I completely didn't recognize from her role on Yellowjackets) were fantastic.  Thinking person's suspense/horror flick.

I want to see Heretic so badly but refuse to pay the rental to see it. I will just wait til it's on streaming

It was on AmzPrime for $5 last week, which is when I streamed it.  Not sure if the price has gone up again.

I also want to see Heretic and would gladly pay the rental fee if only the movie was available here 😐

Ah, that's a bummer.  So you're not in the U.S.?  Hopefully it will be available where you are soon.

I saw it earlier this morning. So good. I loved the religious conversations that took place.

I still have questions about the ending.  I have my assumptions about the meaning, but from everything I've read about the director's intentions, he wanted to leave it open ended, open for interpretation.  I like movies that keep me thinking and coming up with different possibilities.

No, I'm in southern Norway 🙂

We get things here too. Eventually. Painfully slow, sometimes.

I immediately had questions about the ending and went to look up youtube videos but I like my own conclusion.
