Nope, I just find a low-key soundtrack, beautiful imagery, and adorable animals relaxing.

Throw your dog the invisible bone.

But there was nothing relaxing about the story, aside from a few scenes at the beginning.  Seems like there's something missing.

The further up this thread I went, I thought you were both talking about "Homeward Bound" until I saw the Janz' original comment.

I don't watch fake talking animal movies.  Flow was so much better than all that disney crap.

Well I had a childhood. And Homeward Bound is a classic.

In terms of Schindler's List, it's probably one of these films you need to see, if only to say you've seen it. I only got to see it recently (think I may have posted here about it, not sure) and I would say that while yes, it is a little laboured at times (no pun intended) I couldn't say it drags. I wasn't waiting for it to end, end, for god's sake end or anything, and yeah, sure, I had the hanky out at the end. It is pretty brutal, but then, I think it has to be. There's no point in sanitising how it was back then for Jews in Nazi Germany - the callous way they just shot people and then walked away laughing: absolutely horrifying.

@costa_oscura I'm sorry  your bf was so unreasonable about the movie that he would ruin it for you with his petulance and desire for attention. Honestly, when you said he got up and walked out I thought you were going to say he was so moved by it and didn't want you to see him crying! Very immature and very selfish, if you don't mind me saying so, and you showed great tolerance in abandoning the film for his sake.

I haven't seen that animated one you guys are talking about, but am I missing something or are the animals not real? Why then get worried about them, except in the course of the film itself, caught up in the narrative? I watched Watership Down and feared for the rabbits, but in the end, they're just CGI creations, aren't they? Pixels on a screen?

I started Flow but too much was going on and I know when I'm on my phone half paying attention I can't watch certain movies.

I went to see The Monkey today and it was so good. I got the comedy vibes from the trailer but it exceeded expectations. I was laughing through most of the movie. It scratched my B horror movie nerve. Loved it.

@Lexi Darling
Keep an eye out for this movie when it streams.

I was this cool the whole time.

I'm currently trying to convince my wife to go see The Monkey with me.

Ok, you guys are selling me haha. Though I probably won't have an opportunity while it's in theaters since I have obligations to my mom; either Aaron or I has to be at the house to take care of her at all times and I hate going to theaters alone. But I'll jot it down for the future!

The story is basically animals cooperating to take care of each other. That's pretty chill content to me. Its just not the pulse pounding thriller you're making it out to be.

So it seems like you've never endured potential danger to your life, to make it to the next day, to your ability to support yourself.  It must be nice to live without those experiences.

Nah, it's a piece of overdone tripe.  I felt that way even as a child.

Movie night at your place during elementary school slumber parties must've been all anyone could talk about at recess.

I haven't seen the movie, but I'm not gonna lie, this is a really weird thing to assume about someone based solely on what they thought about a movie.

See the movie and judge for yourself.  If you have any empathy, you'll be hard pressed to find it 'relaxing' and will identify with the animals' situation.  Janzoon, however, doesn't seem able to make that leap and I'd guess it's because this person has never experienced any hardships personally that might create the empathy needed while watching this film.  Lacking empathy is not an unusual thing; some people do lack it.  It's just unusual to see it represented so clearly in a public forum, unless we were in a MAGA group.  Then I might expect it.
