While I'm not directly defending Ye, it saddens me to see yet further proof that the glorious era of sampladelic plunderphonics is over. Paul's Boutique could never be made today, and The Avalanche's original vision only survives in the form of the Zomba Promo. The KLF could similarly never do what they did in the 80s and 90s today. And Girl Talk had to release their best work for free because it would be logistically and financially impossible to clear all the samples used.

WhoSampled shows no fewer than 83 songs that sampled "I Feel Love," and there are certainly many hundreds more who did so under the radar.
