Kind of hilarious 😂 Tourists need to be more careful.

The article doesn't say where they were but I'll guess they were in Oakland.

Crime near the airport is terrible.

QuoteIn April 2023, Port of Oakland Executive Director Danny Wan informed Councilmember Treva Reid that "violence and larceny" was a major problem near OAK Airport, which the port owns and operates.

"In the last several months, we have also received complaints and reports of assaults and larceny targeting passengers at In & Out Burger (8300 Oakport St.), several gas stations near the airport, and at the Starbucks at 8450-D Edgewater Dr. off of Hegenberger Rd.," Wan wrote in the letter. "These incidents continue to cause fear and distress among airport users."

Wan also cited reports about thieves targeting cars parked outside the Starbucks on 98th Avenue, and masked thieves who ransacked rental cars parked at businesses at the Airport Plaza. Wan added that rental car companies at the airport responded to these incidents by removing vehicle identification barcodes from their cars so they don't stand out as rental cars.

Fucking welcome to America huh?

Yeah they just vaguely say the bay area. I thought it was San Fran but could be Oakland if you look at the Instagram post it looks like a more suburb type area like possibly somewhere in SF

I was this cool the whole time.

Quote from: Psy-Fi on Dec 18, 2024, 02:46 PMAbout 11,600 people have died in US gun violence so far in 2024
That report is from September 5, full year figures will more likely be above 13,000. That number refers only to homicide. About 60% of gun deaths are suicide, so 35,000 or so gun deaths. More than 300 people are shot everyday of which about 115 are expected to die.

I find this hard to believe, a claim that in 2000 the homicide rate in Europe at 8 per 100,000 was higher than the US at 6.4,and since 2000 the European rate has fallen to 2, while the US has remained static.
Something seems off. All I can think of is maybe the Balkan wars of the 1990s pushed up the Euro rate.

They flew him back on a spy plane just to give him a perp walk with no bullet proof vest and essentially Jokerfy him to make him look even cooler.

Actually no that's from a scene in the Superman movie Man of Steel.

I was this cool the whole time.
