Quote from: SGR on Oct 19, 2023, 09:50 PMGlad to hear it. I'm a Souls junkie (and I love Nioh even more), so I'll have to pick it up. How difficult is it compared to the Souls games?

I'd say it's much more of a Bloodborne 2 than Dark Souls so if you enjoyed Bloodborne, you'll enjoy this one. The difficulty is definitely there but nothing that felt unfair.  Lies of P is honestly one of the best soulslikes to come out in a while.

Dead Space Remake got put on Game Pass last night. Anyone that hasn't played Dead Space, I urge you to check this one out. One of the best survival horror games ever made imo.

Yes, I was happy about this 🙂

I love Dead Space and have of course completed the trilogy. I haven't played the smaller games or seen any of the anime stuff, though.

I wouldn't mind a revisit to the Ishimura planet cracker.

The third Dead Space sucked tho

Yes, a bit.. compared to the first two.

But at least we got more story.

Sonic Heroes 2 may finally be in development, coming 2025

What say you @Lexi Darling ?

Fans: "Wow, this was spiffy Sega! A sequel to an early 2000s 3D Sonic game! We've been waiting for this one for a while! You did a bangup job! Say....speaking of sequels to early 2000s 3D Sonic games....do you have any plans to maybe create Sonic Adventure 3?"

Anyone see anything about the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct today? After about 22 years, we're finally getting a sequel to Kirby Air Ride! I thought my brother was joking when texted me about it. I was in the summer between second and third grade when the original came out, damn.

I don't know @Key, what do you think about Donkey Kong's redesign? I don't know why they got my boy in dungarees now, he's always gone commando (sans the tie) and I think that suits him well.

The 90 dollar price points for games is making me not as excited for any of the Switch 2 games and 80 bucks for digital.

They also want like 20 to 30 dollars for upgrades to games you already have.

When ps4 to ps5 graphic upgrades were free.

I was this cool the whole time.

Yeah, I found out about that later - totally ridiculous. That said, unless I misread, I think the 90 is the price in Euros for some physical switch 2 games - don't think it's $90 for any of them in the US.

Seeing the new Switch 2 games, then finding out the price be like:

The 'upgrade' price is completely egregious, especially as you point out, Sony provided those graphics upgrades for free. I am not paying $20 for some extra pixels that don't even affect gameplay.

I was telling my brother that if I wanted 3 Switch 2 games after I purchase the console, I'll basically be approaching half the damn console price just for the games.

Well in the direct they did mention that the upgrades to switch 2 WOULD have gameplay features added so it's almost like paying for dlc. I'm not too bothered by the 20 bucks upgrade since that's the case. It's more than just a graphics upgrade.

Yeah, it'll probably differ by game. Some might be worth the upgrade, some might not be.

I'm a big Mario Party fan - I still love to have some drinks with friends and play that game. And to get the most out of the Switch 2 upgrade for the latest Mario Party (which presumably will be $20 - $30), you'd also need to buy a $50 camera accessory.

As much as I think the Switch 2 will be cool, I don't think I'll be getting one for a good while. The games look really cool and a new 3D Donkey Kong is awesome, but I've got plenty of games on my Switch that I haven't played yet and I just don't see a reason to get the new one right away.
