Good morning!

I've been a bit of a Youtube junkie since it first started, and over the decade that followed I was increasingly watching a lot less terrestrial television in favor of independent Youtube content. This will be a general thread for linking your favorite creators on the platform, and other online video sites of course.

Rachel Maksy is definitely up there, she does a lot of crafts, clothing and cosplay, often with a whimsical or fantastical vibe. She used to do a lot more vintage fashion videos, but all her stuff is good.

Caroline Winkler is another fave. Her channel is focuses on interior decorating, self improvement and general adulting I guess I'd call it. Very funny off the cuff commentary as well.

Probably my favorite recent discovery is Honeyjubu, who is a Korean housewife who makes vlogs showing her daily routine, cooking, housework and such. Very well-shot, very inspirational for my own routine, and a style of content I'd definitely like to try my hand at making sometime.

What Youtubers do you follow?

"stressed" is just "desserts" spelled backwards

One of the more amusing Youtubers I've come across is Canadian Steve Wallis who goes and "stealth camps" around his neighbourhood in some of the wackiest places you'll come across. I definitely went down the rabbit hole with this one after searching for videos to help convert vans/cars into weekend campers and randomly came across his brand of entertaining lunacy. Its funny how he seems to always be on high alert pretending hes in some sort of imminent danger and then .......... absolutely nothing happens.

Stealth Camping in a Roundabout

Bald and Bankrupt used to be good but I can't watch him any more since he was exposed as a piece of shit and all round sex pest.

Only God knows.

Speaking of entertaining lunatics, one of my all time favorites is BowserVids. I'm not going to describe his videos as I don't want to explain the joke, so just check out these two if you're unfamiliar.

This is his most classic vid.

And this is my personal favorite.

Most of my favorite current Youtubers all came from the AllDef family, so it's a bunch of black comedians and they have transitioned to podcasts but I still watch them on youtube because they are visual ones.

Patrick Cloud
Tahir Moore
KevOnStage

Just to name a few but Squadcast was getting plays from me all throughout the pandemic.

I was this cool the whole time.

I've been on a Youtube kick lately so I'll share a few more of my favorite Youtubers.

Sage Lilleyman is a vintage fashion youtuber, focusing in particular on midcentury 1930s-1950s era style and recreating elements of the lifestyles of those eras. She has a calm, soft spoken voice that is always pleasant to listen to.

Niamh the Prog Nerd is a young woman who shares her love of progressive rock (more recently other genres like metal). Lots of vinyl collecting stuff, and I like the videos where she talks prog with her dad a lot, reminds me of my musical relationship with my own dad.

Lady Emily is a video essayist who makes videos on a pretty random assortment of subjects, from the Angry Video Game Nerd to the Gorillaz to Kitchen Nightmares. She doesn't upload super frequently but when she does it is always a treat even if I'm not particularly versed in the subject. You may also know her as the co-writer for fellow video essayist Sarah Z.

Angry Joe Show is my go to for movie reviews of blockbuster type movies and also video game news and the reviews of certain games that they tend to do every now and then.

I was this cool the whole time.

I love this guys channel. I always find out about new music, and I get a little bit of a bass lesson. I Booboo/Queen Boobs still on this site?

Wow, now that's a name I haven't heard in a while. I remember him from the old Nostalgia Critic crew. I still follow Todd in the Shadows, who was also a part of that community back in the day. One of those reviewers I regularly disagree with but still watch every video.

She streams pretty frequently on Twitch. I'll pass the link on in case she doesn't see this. I love informative music channels, which reminds me, I should post some of my favorite synth youtubers.

Of course 🙂 just click someone's avatar and you should see the option soon.

I don't follow many people on YouTube, but I do like @JakeNodar's Cock Whisperer series:

Happiness is a warm manatee

Alexander McKechnie (born: 1989), better known online as exurb1a, is an English educational entertainment YouTuber, author and podcast host from England, currently living in Bulgaria. Exurb1a is an existentialist with a penchant for fiction with a metaphysical backbone.

Quotes:

"The universe is as mad as a bucket of coked-up ferrets."

"Ultimately it doesn't matter which telescope you look up, the most complex thing we've ever seen the universe make is looking up that telescope."

His sci-fi short, "27" is a favorite of mine.

His latest short, titled "How Will We Know When AI is Conscious?" examines the nature of consciousness, the alignment problem, and other key dilemmas surrounding AGI.
