You're correct, the Republicans control the house currently with a slim majority.

Either way I think it's better to be safe than sorry. So far I've been able to get a small stockpile of medication in case of things going south, and if things really go to pot it might be possible to get a work visa to move to Canada or somewhere else since I have a partner with qualifications and we're legally married now. Probably a good topic for a household meeting in the near future.

Yeah I don't mean to downplay your concerns because they are valid. Who know what wacky shit might happen. Thank you for the update. I stand corrected. I thought they had both bodies. I'm reluctantly voting for two Senators in NY that I hate just to keep the democrats in control of the Senate but they are both pro Israel.

I was this cool the whole time.

Democratic senator blasts $5B program as 'failure' after only 7 EV-charging stations open in 3 years

QuoteJust seven electric-vehicle charging stations have begun operating with funding from a $5-billion US government program created in 2021, marking "pathetic" progress, a Democratic senator said on Wednesday.

Automakers and others say drastically expanding EV-charging stations is crucial to the wide deployment of electric vehicles, which are part of the Biden Administration's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The seven EV-charging stations deployed to date under a 2021 US program consist of a few dozen total charging ports, said Shailen Bhatt, who heads the Federal Highway Administration, at a Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) committee hearing.

"That is pathetic. We're now three years into this ... That is a vast administrative failure," said Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.). "Something is terribly wrong and it needs to be fixed."
