Looking for NBA topics they are to be discussed in this thread.

We might as well chop it up about the playoffs/finals since Finals start June 1st.

The Nuggets will most likely be facing Miami Heat in the Finals.

Heat vs Celtics Game 6 is tonight The Heat is currently leading the series 3-2.

Is anyone rooting for the Celtics to come back?

I was this cool the whole time.

Well the Heat dropped the ball and now it's going to Game 7.

I was this cool the whole time.

So it looks like Heat and Nuggets series will be a good one back and forth. I was a bit hoping that the Nuggets would just shut down the Heat and win in 4 but it might end up being Nuggets in 6 imo.

I was this cool the whole time.

The Nuggets need to close out this series on Monday night. They are up 3-1 against the Heat.

I think I saw a percentage(90%) around that any team that is up 3-1 in a finals goes on to win the whole thing.

I was this cool the whole time.

The season is over Nuggets won in 5 games.

I just didn't want the Heat to win at all even though I didn't watch any of their games throughout the season.

I was this cool the whole time.

Well the Knicks lost to the Pacers. I was only following because they were doing so well but the Pacers has a good bench apparently.

I'm done following NBA until the finals roll around to make bets.

I was this cool the whole time.

I have to admit that I've never followed the NBA much but a few of the players always stood out to me in the American sports news and Bill Walton was one of those players...

Bill Walton, NBA Hall of Famer who won 2 championships, dies at 71

R.I.P.

Not me unfortunately. The only sport I'm invested in is American Football. My Dad was a big Larry Bird fan though.

oh okay. Yeah same with American Football but also Hockey.

I just like to follow Final and some playoffs in all sports. Feels like more exciting games/matches when stakes are on the line plus I can toss in some bets.

I'm so conflicted. I'm happy that the Pacers got washed 0-4 but its to the Celtics and I can't fully support a Boston team as a New Yorker.

Man, I'm completely on board with watching playoffs in all sports assuming I have the time and I remember (it's witnessing a part of history in my opinion, and people can downplay it just because it's sports if they want, but it's still history). I should add, I will certainly watch big boxing matches or MMA matches (the latter with my brother). Though I do love to make bets in NFL games, I'm rather reticent in other sports because I simply recognize that I don't understand them as deeply as I do with football. So I feel like a blind man making bets in other sports, even if my success rate with them might be close to my success rate in the NFL (as they say, any given Sunday - and also, I should probably lay off my affinity for parlay bets and focus on moneyline - thanks a lot Kelce and Raheem Mostert who both ruined what could've been two big parlay bets for me last year! Why don't you score touchdowns every game you absolute bums!?)

Funny you bring up parlay bets, I just watched a story of a content creator I follow that is super into parlay betting nowadays. She's hooked. I never got into it personally. Most of my bets are friendly bets with friends nothing official and no spreads or anything like that.

Parlay bets are difficult because of course, they all have to hit for a payout. At the same time, you could turn a meager $10 into $100. So it can be real fun on football Sunday if you've made bets in each game timeslot (1pm, 4pm, 8pm), as you watch on the edge of your seat for each leg of the parlay to hit. Of course, it's a real buzzkill when your parlay is ruined early in the day. I had one parlay where one leg of it was Justin Jefferson going for 75 receiving yards. Of course, he got injured and was taken out for the rest of the game before he could get there. There goes my parlay.

I have a somewhat addictive personality though, so I limit myself to either $25 or $50 a season on DraftKings. It's fun. I also occasionally make friendly bets with friends and family. After Super Bowl 54, I made a 2:1 bet with my father that the Chiefs would make it back to the Super Bowl (whether they won it or lost it wasn't part of the bet). If they didn't, I'd owe him $50, if they did, he'd owe me $100. He took the odds, and as you know, he lost the bet. He told me later that he almost offered me a 'double or nothing' bet on the Chiefs actually winning Super Bowl 55, but even he thought they were gonna win. Neither of us realized just how porous that o-line was gonna be with the second string guys starting.

How are the bets going @DJChameleon ?

I don't normally watch NBA, but I watched most of the second half of the Celtics/Mavs game last night. Man, my football brain has a difficult time adjusting to it. It's like, constant action, without the start-stop dynamic of football. Part of me feels like basketball is too fast for me, and baseball is too slow. Maybe my brain just needs to adjust. The athleticism and agility of some of these dudes is wild though. I'm a New England guy, the Celtics haven't won the Championship since I was in eighth grade. It would be cool to see them win another since the Patriots fucking suck now (and fuck the Patriots anyway, cheating bastards). I'm guessing most of the country is rooting for the Mavs though. Last I heard, Cuban was planning to sell them? Is that true?
