Quote from: SGR on Aug 18, 2024, 10:40 PMThe big benefit to electric skillets is providing a consistent and even heat, which you don't really get with a regular skillet on a stovetop. Most of them are also larger than your standard skillets which allows you to cook more food in them (which also means you could could more easily cook a double or triple batch and have leftovers for the week).

My interest is definitely piqued! The stovetop burners in our new apartment seem to have pretty uneven heating compared to the stove in our old place. I don't know if it's worth a shot to call maintenance about the stove since the unit is technically fully functional. I can deal with it generally but it's been a bit obnoxious when making stuff like pancakes and breakfast meats. I wonder if I should look into something like what you described.

"stressed" is just "desserts" spelled backwards

How did college football get to play games in Dublin?

I understand and get the occasional NFL games that happen across the pond but why college ball?

Also flats are lame and require more work. All drums all the time.

I was this cool the whole time.

If you want even heat, and a large amount of space to cook a meal for you and Aaron, an electric skillet might be a great buy! They're really affordable too - this one for example on Amazon is just a little north of $30 and looks similar to the one I have.

If you wanna be sold on it, check this Youtube video out - this guy gives a great summary of the benefits of electric skillets, including actual long-term health benefits compared to the use of regular stovetop skillets.

There's an episode of The X-Files called The Unnatural (s6ep19) wherein an alien comes to earth and joins a baseball team and enjoys it so much he stays on earth to continue playing.

You know where I'm going with this.

Kansas City Chiefs fan "ChiefsAholic" sentenced to more than 17 years after robbing banks to fund sports fandom

So was this guy robbing banks to support his obsession with the team or was it to fund his gambling habit which was related to betting on the team?

Taylor Swift season has officially begun.

I was this cool the whole time.

It was both if I recall correctly. Some studio is currently in the middle of creating a documentary about him. I hope to tell my grandkids someday: "The Andy Reid/Patrick Mahomes Chiefs were so good, that there were people robbing banks to have the money to keep seeing them play in person"

FOOTBALL IS BACK, BABY!!

Damn, I hope Jordan Love is okay. That was an entertaining game last night, despite the shoddy field conditions.

I came to post that but you beat me to it.

On paper, the Fins should win tonight. But I'm picking the Bills. Last 4 or 5 years, the Fins always disappoint against the Bills.
