I feel your pain, but let's be honest: we lost or drew matches we should have easily won. As it was in the CL, our form was spotty and we should have done better. It was always going to be a battle to get that European spot for next season, but yeah, it sucks that two of the very worst teams have qualified for Europe despite woeful form, both close to what could have been the relegation zone, and City sail through. Life ain't fair, but we need to look at our squad. Asensio has been missing far too many goals (including two penalties) and Rashford really hasn't risen to the task. We need to build for next season and give it a proper go. Had results gone our way we could have even been third.

Oh they've only gone and done it again well done to the lads at Paddy Power. Good work.

@jimmy jazz you know all about these things. I signed up here to watch the FIFA Club World Cup. It says it's free. Am I making a mistake or is this okay? Appreciate your input. Thanks. Also, if you know of any other way to watch the tournament.

DAZN is a subscription service as far as I know so it isn't free. If you didn't put card details in then you can't be charged so, it would be free.

It's possible that it could be a free trial which you'd need to cancel before they start charging. Usually it's about a month for free.

Link isn't working.

I have streamed tens of thousands of sporting events BTW, and haven't ever subscribed or paid for anything.

Okay well there was a paid option but I didn't click it and I didn't put in any details. Do you know a safer (!) or more trusted place to watch the tournament? I'd like to do my usual thread but none of the channels I have are broadcasting it. I'd have to pay for TNT, and theres some nonesense about Livescore in Ireland but I think you have to bet to get access. If you were/are going to watch it, what would be your place of choice?

Well then it's free.

I just use the Internet and hook my laptop to the TV using a HDMI lead when there is something I want to watch.

The links vary. If you want I'll find links for you when this kicks off. I'll know closer to the time. When does it start?

That would be cool yes thanks. June 15 it says.

Okay @jimmy jazz I'm back to you for your football oracle knowledge.
Explain this for me, cos it's doing my head in: the matches tomorrow (Saturday), are they linked to the Nations League ones? Cos I see matches played around that time that I don't have records of, and if I'm to try to cover the qualification up to the run-up for the WC I need to know what I'm looking at.

So, are these matches separate, or do they follow on from the Nations League? Because I have say Finland listed as being eliminated, yet now I see they're playing Netherlands tomorrow?
Any clarification would be most helpful, as I am just completely at sea here.
Thanks.

In other words, do I begin my coverage of qualification for the World Cup by just writing out reports for matches from, it looks, March (some groups, it seems, won't be playing till September but Group G and H I think are the ones tomorrow)? Or are there links to the other tournament I'm missing?

Today's matches are World Cup qualifiers.

Use Flashscore mate.

https://www.flashscore.com/

Tells you all the games, times and live scores, competitions, odds. Easy as fuck to get the info you need.

Okay I see those thanks. But I guess my question is this: if - not saying I do but if I want to track all the results that led to the World Cup, i.e., all the qualifiers, how far back do I go for match reports? I can just do them from Wiki's stats as I'm hardly likely to get highlights of them all, but where's the starting point? It may be too big a project to take on, but I'm considering it. Still a year to go anyway.

So the simplest way to look at it is, I guess, what date did the first WC qualifiers begin, in any country, anywhere in the world? What's ground zero for the World Cup qualifiers?

Felt sick and teary hearing this.

Diogo Jota and his brother have both died in a car crash.

RIP.

It's absolutely devastating. Such a nice guy and a legendary player. And to lose two of them in the one tragedy. Just heartbreaking. Liverpool seem to be one of the unluckiest clubs in the world: first the parade disaster and now this, so soon after it. RIP Jota brothers. :(

Viv's 100th goal!!!!! It means the world. Classic skillful and clever Miedema goal too, although that clearly took all the available braincells so none were left for the execution of the celebration, bless
