I have noticed this twice so far and I'm impressed that after a year of using the site this is the only glitch I know of, but once people add you to their buddy list, you get an alert for it that appears like you could click on it to direct you to the buddy list and remove the alert, but it just refreshes the page and you have no choice but to mark as read, which always gives me anxiety as a button bc I feel like I'm getting read of an unread message

Some more notifications act like this, I believe, although most members probably don't see them. I think the new member notification might be one of them.

Mine done that too and stayed for days until I realised I could click mark read and it's gone now 😅
