This song has been stuck in my mind for the past 2 or 3 days. I have no idea why. Can't say I dislike Simon & Garfunkel, but I've never bought or downloaded any of their albums or cared enough to want to see them play live at any time. Maybe posting it here will expunge it from my psyche...

I can't deny their songwriting brilliance. When they were in the groove, they were as good as it gets.

Yep, as you say, some great songwriting and a style of tightly-controlled perfection in delivery made them, as some would say, "unassailable" ;)
Bookends was their best album imo.

^ By coincidence, I was exploring some Drive-By Truckers recently, but was rather put off by the guy's voice tbh.
Is it my imagination or does that song have a touch of "Fever!" about it?

I hadn't noticed the "Fever" similarity before but I can hear a bit of it in there. Also sounds similar to something else in parts but I can't put my finger on it at the moment.

I'm partial to their first 3 albums and I saw them perform live a couple of times in the early 2000's but I haven't kept up with them since then.
