Identity Crisis: Members changing their username

Ideally, we prefer people to keep the username they signed up with (or maybe had elsewhere, hint hint) - after all, I've had the same boring one since the late 1980s, but that's just me. However, if you do for whatever reason want to change your name AND your avatar, can you please drop a note into this thread and let us know what the change is, e.g., "Hi, this is Member X, I'm Member Y now!" or something similar. There was a recent namechange - Turf Toe - and because they also changed their avatar I can't figure out who they are, and that can get a little awkward.

So, no real problem if you want to keep changing your name if you keep your avatar, and obviously no problem changing your avatar if you keep your name, but if you go for a "full reboot", as it were, and change both, just keep us in the loop so we know who you are, okay?

Oof. For a second I thought I was going to have to announce every time I change my avatar. 

I was also users klerewipper, Hope, and MonaSomona. In case anyone lost track.

No, not at all. Avatar changing is fine. Plus, we'd all know you from your excellent and popular journal. It's just when someone "goes dark" it's hard to know who the heck I'm talking to. I tried to work out who Turf Toe was by looking back at previous posts they'd made, but I just could not - and still cannot - make the connection.

But ... but ... but if I don't know who they are, how can I criticise them and point out their many flaws? And you know people love to have their many flaws pointed out!
