Just bought a ticket for The Offspring with Jimmy Eats World and New Found Glory.  I'll be tagging along to the show with my son and two oldest grandsons.  It will be special because it is the first 'real' concert for the two younguns.

This will be my 5th time seeing The Offspring in the last 26 years. They always put on an energetic show but the between song banter can be slightly patronizing.  "You're the best crowd ever"!   Take the good with the bad!

The Offspring typically have fun openers and my favorites have included; Lit, The Dickies, Sum 41, Simple Plan and Dropkick Murphys. It feels like a mini festival when the openers are actually relevant.  This upcoming show will be no exception.

If the music you're listening to isn't worth standing for then why are you listening?

Going to see The Dropkick Murphys and Bad Religion.  Woohoo!  First time for Bad Religion and 8th for DKM.

Hopefully I'm not the only one enjoying some punky shows this year!

Unfortunately...the DKM/Bad Religion show won't be happening for me.  Grown up responsibilities can be inconvenient at times!

Nothing stands in the way of The Offspring next week.  The highlight will be going with family members including two of my grandsons seeing their first concert.

I did see a punky event today; Punk Rock Flea Market.  85f, downtown setting, live music, very little shade, not enough food vendors but lots of cool overpriced stuff!  Glad I went just to see all the fun crowd.

Does Elvis Costello qualify as punk? I would say he fit in that box when he was on Stiff Records but not now.

Upcoming show next Saturday is nearly sold out and advertised as an 'early material' show.

It will be my second time seeing him and my first visit to the beautiful Akron Civic Theatre in several years.

Tix for The Dead Milkmen just went on sale...tough for my son and I to pass this one up.

The Dead Milkmen were the ultimate college radio band of the mid 80's.  It was like a musical version of MAD Magazine with snarky humor and some decent melodies.

Soooo....tix for The Dead Milkmen sold out quickly.  However....a second show was announced and I scored two tix.  The second show sold out in 15 minutes or less.  Perhaps a bigger venue next time boys!

Tonight...Richard Lloyd of Television.
