What if we just replaced oxygen with swag?

It's not front and centre, in-your-face, electronica, but it says "electronic" on the cd cover, so deal with it ;):-

long standing electronic fav (not most fav but def one of the formative songs for my appreciation of electronic music)

I prefer "Waiting for the Stars" but that is age restricted cause of boobs and vagine.

Well of course I'll go watch it...as soon as I'm not on my computer at work. (smiling)

If the music you're listening to isn't worth standing for then why are you listening?

I watched...the visual was was Metropolis meets Caligula.  Not my cup of tea but I do appreciate videos with a purpose.

It's such a treat to see Tom Dissevelt & Kid Baltan mentioned by someone other than myself! I have two of their treasures in my archive.

The first is a gem from my musique concrète collection - Popular Electronics: The Singles. This set of 1950s abstract electronic 7-inches was reissued as a box set by Basta in 2008. Great stuff from the label that brought you Raymond Scott's Manhattan Research Inc. and Soothing Sounds for Baby Vols 1-3.

The other is a deep cut - The Electrosoniks (Tom Dissevelt & Kid Baltan) - Electronic Music. (1962)

My favorite of the dozen or so generically-titled electronic releases of the early 60s.

Fun trivia - The UFO sound of the opening seconds from "Moon Maid" were lifted by the novelty group, The Ran Dells two years later on their mega-hit, "the Martian Hop." They were heralded for years for their "innovative" early-electronic sounds but were perhaps one of the earliest examples of illegal sampling. (Though, notably - Buchanan And Goodman beat them by several years in 1956 with the equally-successful "The Flying Saucer Pts 1 & 2"). I corrected the Wikipedia entries to give them proper credit.

Also - Jean-Jacques Perrey visited Dissevelt and Baltan during the production of this LP and cited them as an inspiration for his move to electronic music.

^ Well, that held my interest for longer than I expected ! I really enjoyed its hectic pace and the ever-changing sounds. Thanks for introducing me to the genre of Dariacore, and (via google), to a bewildering number of other electronic sub-genres:-

QuoteDariacore is defined by the use of prominent vocal samples, noisy and distorted production with influences from a wide range of Electronic Dance Music genres not limited to Future Bass, Hardcore [EDM], Jersey Club and Mashcore. Recognizable samples from pop culture as well as the Hyperpop and Digicore scenes are utilized and typically heavily edited through the use of bitcrushing, nightcoring, and distortion. Dariacore songs place emphasis on fun, energetic and over-stimulating drops achieved through dense production, complex melodies, and chaotic songwriting.

The scene later received a resurgence with the unexpected release of leroy's Grave Robbing in 2023, with new tracks inspired by Hard Dance subgenres...  The resurgence, which includes artists like Cluli, reali and reallerr, is defined by its eclectic sound, keeping the core elements of Dariacore whilst incorporating other Electronic Dance Music sub genres such as Complextro, Hardstyle and Riddim into its production.

What you desire is of lesser value than what you have found.

My favourite track of the last decade - "denver luna" by Underworld from 2023, as well as the acapella alternate take.

Do yourself a favor - put on your best circumaural cans. No skipping fast-forward. Close your eyes. Let Rick and Karl carry you away.
