Allowing for the perhaps unlikely fact that you somehow have access to a power point, electricity and so forth, pick up to ten movies you could theoretically watch over and over again were you to be stuck on said island for an indeterminate amount of time. Note: you do not have access to the internet, so these will be your only form of cinematic entertainment. No Netflix or Amazon or any of that shite: you have a DVD player (oh come on now! It hasn't been that long, has it? Small, silvery round things? Go into a tray? No, not plates!) and a player. That's it.

Anyhoo for me it would be

The Odd Couple, about which I never cease wittering and with good reason.
The Last Temptation of Christ
Downfall (Der Untergang)
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Dust Devil
Dark Star
Silent Running
The Prisoner of Second Avenue
The Good Shepherd
Memento

I don't consider myself much of a connoisseur of cinema, but here's 10 perennial favorites that I can and will rewatch countless times.

The Princess Bride
Die Hard
The Mummy
Blazing Saddles
The Last Dragon
Speed
Groundhog Day
The Emperor's New Groove
Clueless
Mean Girls

What if we just replaced oxygen with swag?

Barry Lyndon
Clifford
CB4
Once Were Warriors
Chopper
Requiem for a Dream
Amores Perros
Dom Durakov (House of Fools)
Falling Down
Trainspotting

I've heard of it but I've never seen it. I've seen Santa Sangre by the same director.

I haven't seen that one - is that also a hallucinatory fever dream of a movie?

It's definitely weird but I don't remember it being any where near as experimental as I heard The Holy Mountain is.

In retrospect I think I have to replace Mortal Kombat with Climax. I can't believe I forgot about that movie.

I've heard the album.
Oh no wait, that was Dopesmoker, wasn't it? Well, same difference.

The Room
The Royal Tenenbaums

Since you brought up The Room and Birdemic, I'm realizing now that I didn't think to include "so bad/weird/crazy they're good" movies in my list. I might have to do a new one where I go half and half on movies I enjoy for their quality and movies I enjoy for the lack thereof.

What do you mean? Birdemic is one of the greatest movies ever made. Those that haven't seen it have not experienced what I consider a truly breathtaking leap in cinema.

I changed my mind - I'd swap out The Machinist for The Cat in the Hat (2003). That movie is a true masterpiece.

Indeed a true masterwork of fever dream cinema.
