I saw this story about Everest climbers a couple of days ago...

I discovered a trash dump on Mt. Everest — and picked up 440 pounds of it

Hopefully the one they rescued wasn't one of those litterbugs.

Just why? You're already a multimillionaire. Why get involved with that stuff?

Only God knows.

If he is involved, the first thing that comes to my mind is that he has a severe gambling problem and did it for the quick cash.

Here's a two-fer from Haiti...

Haitian-Chilean citizen sentenced to life in prison for assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise

QuoteA dual Haitian-Chilean citizen who pleaded guilty to federal charges related to his involvement in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise has been sentenced to life in prison, Florida court records show.

Judge Jose E. Martinez handed down the sentence to Rodolphe Jaar on Friday during a 10-minute hearing in Miami. The life sentences for each of three counts are to be served concurrently.

Jaar pleaded guilty in March to three counts – including conspiracy to commit murder or kidnapping outside the United States and providing material support resulting in death, according to the plea agreement.

Moise, 53, was killed in his bedroom in Haiti on July 7, 2021.

I read the first story and wondered why a Haitian-Chilean citizen would be sent to the U.S. for trial and then imprisonment in a U.S. prison instead of being tried and imprisoned in Haiti.

Then I read the following story...
