Quote from: innerspaceboy on Oct 24, 2024, 12:26 AMOh my! I had just emailed them earlier this week inquiring about whether my latest video installation constitutes Fair Use. I got a reply from the hijacker who hacked their domain. I resent the letter a few days later hoping they were back up and running. But I just tried to hit their main page and there's an out-of-service message up. I've been watching their Wikipedia entry for news about the hack.

Please tag me if you see them come back online!

A big win for the anti vaxxers.

1 Million per person that got fired.

I was this cool the whole time.

I imagine there are similar lawsuits out there dealing with the same issue at other companies and public-sector jobs around the U.S.

The all-new Mac mini is five by five inches of pure power and purpose. With a wide array of ports, now on the front and back. Redesigned around Apple silicon to unleash the full speed and capabilities of the M4 and M4 Pro chips. And built for Apple Intelligence. Mac mini is the new definition of efficiency — and the first carbon neutral Mac.

Mac Mini: So much easier to steal! No more trying to stagger down the stairs with a big desktop or tower! MAC-simise your theft time! Steal more, carry less! Now you can just unplug, and go! Into the pocket and walk out the door, nobody will even suspect you're stealing anything. Not only that, the Mac Mini's tiny size means that on average discovery time of theft will increase by a staggering 43 percent! This gives you, the thief, far more of a head start, time to get away and with the Mac Mini's tiny form factor, you can sell it on any street corner, in any pub or even in a park!

Thank you Apple, for once again thinking of the little guy.

All thefts are final. Apple does not accept responsibility for stolen units, despite being the ones responsible for making it easier to be stolen. Nor does Apple accept responsibility for Mac Minis misplaced in rooms, offices or any other location, or Mac Minis accidentally stood on. Carrying a Mac Mini in your pocket may result in overheating, causing serious burns and personal injury. Mac Minis bought "off some guy in a pub" do NOT qualify for Apple Tech Support and are not eligible for insurance, repair or replacement. Mac Mini is a registered trademark of the Apple Corporation, and should not be confused with Scottish short skirts, nor indeed small rally cars raced in Scotland.

I am not a Apple user and never have been but, $599 for a mini-pc with that new M4 chip and 16GB. That is a fair decent price I think, considering my Google Pixel 9Pro XL was $1200 lol

I won't be buying it but I am just still a little surprised on how low the price is

US jails Fat Leonard in Navy's biggest bribery scandal

QuoteA Malaysian businessman has been sentenced to 15 years in jail for his role in the US Navy's biggest corruption scandal and for skipping a previous sentencing hearing.

Leonard Glenn Francis, known as "Fat Leonard", pleaded guilty in 2015 to bribing senior Navy officials with millions of dollars in cash, prostitutes, luxury travel and top-shelf liquor and cigars.

In exchange, Francis said he received classified information and was able to overcharge the Navy $35m (£27m) for his company's services to the 7th Fleet based in the Indo-Pacific.
