Aperson in Pueblo County, Colorado, about 100 miles south of Denver, has been infected with bubonic plague, local health officials said Monday.

Last week, state and local officials identified the case based on preliminary test results. Trysten Garcia, a spokesperson for the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment, said in an email Tuesday morning it was bubonic plague. Earlier announcements had been more general, stating it was "plague." The infection was initially reported on Friday. The department said the person was hospitalized for bubonic plague but their condition improved. Because plague is endemic locally, it's hard to pinpoint the source of infection, Garcia said.

It just came off as silly as reading comments from anti-vaxxers on stories about young people dying tragically for some health related reason - first thing they say is:

"Was he jabbed?"

"I bet he got the 'clot shot'"

Even if it clearly has nothing to do with that.

This is, frankly, bollocks. How can they say the robot was depressed? Suicidal? That presupposes one of the most earth-shattering events in AI has taken place: that a robot can develop emotions and feelings. More likely it was a fault in the tech or it just was fucking careless. Absolutely no proof or evidence I can see - at least, from the article you linked - to prove anything other than this was just something that happened. Did they find a suicide note? Had the thing been attending counselling? Do me a lemon. Talk about jumping (sorry) to unfounded conclusions!!
