In this terrifying world of an uncertain future, with everyone in power seeming to look to feather their own nest and kick the chicks out of any they don't like, agree with or believe have the right to exist, let's try to post stories about, for want of a more nuanced phrase, good people. Anyone who is doing selfless acts in this world, anyone standing up for the little guy, anyone trying to bring a sense of community and friendliness and respect to this crazy, dark and cold world that's being created around us. Anyone who makes you smile, laugh, forget your troubles or gives you hope for the world. Big things, small things, they all count.

Can be anyone: someone you know, a family member, a musician, a sports personality, film star or some homeless guy or girl who feeds the ducks in the park. Anyone, as long as they're still alive, so no historical people. Let's try to balance the scales if we can.

Chris McCausland

You guys may not know him, but he's an English comedian and actor. He's been blind since his 20s, but never plays on the fact, other than to help his comedy, i.e., poking fun at himself. I can't imagine what it's like to be blind, but even then, being born blind you don't know what you're missing out on. To have your sight taken just as you enter what should be your best years must be such a hammerblow, yet the man turned to comedy and even managed to not only compete in the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, but won it outright! Chris also made a TV documentary called The Wonders of the World I Can't See, where he travelled to all the big tourist sites and talked about them. Just in awe of the guy, who makes me feel somewhat ashamed when I feel sorry for myself.

Oh come on, seriously? NOBODY knows any good people? Or knows of them? Are we in such a dark world we can't find even a chink of light? And I don't mean an Asian with a lantern!

Damon Albarn.

That wouldn't be a 'good people' thing to do.

Are you saying that Jesus didn't exist?

Yes, good point. I assumed he was refuting the obviously computer generated GIF of Jesus. But do you doubt the historicity of Jesus, Trolls?

I'm a pagan. I don't dispute that historically a man called Jesus existed (there's one plays for Manchester City, after all) but as to his being the son of God? Well, let me ask you this: if that was so, why did nobody write about it? You'd think it'd be news, even Good News.

Son of god? What about the wind of god?
