I hope Plankton is still around somewhere. His final post at MB seemed rather ominous. Gave me the impression that he might be facing some type of serious health problem.

Some of those people are from a long way back, and had all but stopped posting when I joined in 2011. Surely you weren't around then, Lexi ?

Some posters not yet mentioned that I remember as regulars in the World/Folk section of MB:-

misspoptart, an American living in Istanbul
Stephen, from Australia: we were both, at the same time equally interested in exploring world music.
Jack Pat, who became Cenotaph and then TockTock. He introduced me to a couple of artists that I still regard as favourites today. Thanks.
Pet_Sounds was clearly a nice guy, both on MB and irl
A guy from Argentina whose name I can't remember off-hand.
Spanish photographer Zarbaquel, whose name I never learned to spell correctly
Neapolitan, Moshe, adidasss...Blimey, it's a depressingly long list of people who no longer post.

And not so much focused on world music: Mighty Salami, MicShazam and two strange controversial guys: [MERIT] and Mord/Zhantiem, whose name is another spelling challenge. To my knowledge he was the only guy who ever had both his wife and his son posting on MB too.

Yes and no, haha. I first discovered MB in late 2007, but I just lurked and never posted, mostly because I was afraid of my music taste being roasted, lol. I was mostly there to discover new music and expand my tastes, but even though I wasn't really part of the community I still enjoyed reading everyone's posts and seeing all the unique personalities on there.
