While transphobia is being pushed into policies that are extremely harmful and that cannot be underestimated or minimized, I'm starting to get the sense of the pendulum shift happening in the larger social mindset. There's obviously a lot of internalized transphobia out there as a baseline among the average person who get uneasy about trans people and issues, but I don't think that extends nearly as far as the rabid outright cruelty that's being reflected in these policies and the freaks who support/enact them that are now going all out mask off... and revealing themselves as the absolute psychos they truly are in the process. They've overplayed their hand and most normal people aren't down with the blatant spiteful cruelty. I don't know if this will result in backlash that will start rolling back anti-trans legislation, but these things only work as far as people are willing to go along with it. In many many countries there's ridiculous anti-LGBTQ+ laws from decades or centuries ago that, while never rolled back, ended up never being enforced and long-forgotten about.  I see similar changes in attitudes going on with a lot of other hard right issues. They've dropped the pretenses and dogwhistles and obfuscations and are just leaning into being as disgusting and grotesque. Only a subset of people who were willing to go along with shit like Fox News, Rebel News (Canadian rag), or Daily Wire stuff are willing to get on board with gross weirdos like Asmongold which is where the right seems to have shifted its energy.

With LGBTQ+ issues, I think there was enough progress in the minds of normal people over the past few decades years that only so much of the toothpaste can be put back into the tube. While obviously incredibly dangerous and harmful, there seems to be a growing misalignment between the zealous sociopaths pushing these policies and the broader public mind.

I definitely mostly agree, and I also think a lot of the cis people who aren't supporting us as vocally are just woefully underinformed on the direness of the threat, and that's in large part due to the irresponsible mainstream media either refusing to report on our issues at all or only reporting on the ones that have proven to be the divisive ones that get clicks and reactions such as sports/bathrooms/pronouns. And well meaning but ignorant cis people see the portrayal of trans related matters in the news media and think those are the biggest or only issues. The reps introduced the HRT Medicaid ban edit quietly in the middle of they night, they have to refer to us with inaccurate language like "gender ideology" and calling us all "trans activists" to keep puffing up their boogeyman, and I think that's because at their core the anti medicine, anti bodily autonomy policies are actually very unpopular. If people actually learned what happens during the forced detransition the republicans want to inflict upon us, that maybe a trans acquaintance or friend of a friend they know will be directly harmed by the policy, I feel like more of the human empathy would come out. The dehumanization campaign toward trans people by the right is there to desensitize the common public and prey on their overall unfamiliarity with us, so that more of the public will be fine with throwing us under the bus.

What if we just replaced oxygen with swag?

What kind of a bar doesn't have stalls in the men's room? They trying to say men don't shit?

I was this cool the whole time.

Yeah, that's a bizarre detail, enough to make me question the veracity of at least some elements of the story even. I wonder if there's any way to corroborate that.

I read some of their lower reviews and apparently the bar is pretty racist. People are leaving comments to avoid it if you aren't white. They are also ableist too. Kicked out a disabled guy because they thought he was drunk but its just his disability. I mean it is located in SC so that doesn't surprise me too much.
