Tell us a bit about yourself.

Shhon posted a link in an Irish thread on City Data Forum. Maybe s/he was out prospecting for new members here. CDF does not approve of posting links to "competitors" so it will be an issue if s/he continues. I'm (proudly) banned on CDF, so I only read a few threads of interest.
About myself. Been in the DC metro area since 1990. I'm retired now. Spent most of my working life inside the beltway, and live 5 minutes outside in Maryland. My main interest here will be politics and current affairs. I'm a center/left Democrat. Ask for anything else.

I have to leave early, catch me bedtime.

Quote from: Buck_Mulligan on Nov 27, 2024, 06:23 PMHi, I'm not musical at all. Couldn't sing, dance, or cook to save my life. Hope to participate in several other areas.

Welcome to our forum, Buck 🙂

If singing, dancing and cooking's not your thing, what can you do?

Although I can no longer drink alcohol, I'm a bit of a wine geek, or apprentice wine snob, if you prefer.
My hobbies are mostly travel, reading, swimming, walking, dining out, and because I worked in the Washington DC bubble, politics and current affairs on a global basis.

Hey, you should feel right at home. I don't usually partake myself, but there's been a lot of discussion on US politics and a bit of elsewhere too in the lead-up to the election.

As a left-leaning Norwegian, the political winds are not at all in my favour (also not here in my own country), so politics as a topic is something I find mildly depressing, generally speaking 😄
