Also, SCOTUS ruled in favor of the AP over their ban from the WH press room.

9-0 ruling, no less. That's a great sign that SCOTUS has some limits! But, they made another ruling earlier this week that sort of carves the Trump admin a path to keep doing similar things through some legalese ambiguity. The admin has already been ignoring slews of lower court rulings, so we'll see how they respond to this. Here's hoping they can get this guy back.

^ :( That's depressing news, Lexi, and so is this:

What you desire is of lesser value than what you have found.

Anyone else rooting for China at this point?

Well, definitely in the Tesla vs. BYD contest, yes.

What you desire is of lesser value than what you have found.

Despite a court order, White House bars AP from Oval Office event

President of El Salvador says he won't return mistakenly deported man to U.S.

If court orders can be ignored freely with no consequences then we are living in a dictatorship.

What if we just replaced oxygen with swag?

'The Homegrowns Are Next': Trump Promises to Send American Citizens to El Salvador in Harrowing Comments to Bukele

It should also be noted that 90% of the migrants deported to El Salvador had no criminal record. Citizens can be deported, people with no criminal record can be deported, due process is not granted, court orders are ignored. And his base won't be outraged by any of this because they pledge allegiance only to the United State of Racism.

Oh yeah and remember when Trump called the people who vandalized Teslas "terrorists" and Elon and Nancy Mace blamed trans people for said "terrorism"? Just throwing that out there.

^ Yep, you did a better job than anyone in telling us in precise, specific detail what a disaster a second Trump presidency would be.

I don't hear any mention of Kamala Harris these days, but I sometimes wonder about the opportunity cost of not having her as president. Americans currently have headlines about alienating historic allies, a coming recession, the gutting of social + research programs, the White House coercing media and education, Americans being disappeared to El Salvador with no due process, and a full-blown constitutional crisis.

With Kamala the headlines would be duller for sure, but who wouldn't prefer it if these stories were playing out in the USA instead:-

-Harris continues to take lead role of championing abortion rights after Roe v. Wade.
-Rate of Inflation continues the reduction that started under Biden.
-Harris' health care platform builds on the Biden administration's efforts to reduce prescription drug costs.
-Canada, Greenland and Europe continue normal trade/geopolitical relations with US.
-Harris continues a policy she began as California's attorney general, when she investigated Exxon Mobil for its role in climate change disinformation.
-Musk is laughed away when he tries to gate-crash an Oval Office cabinet meeting.
-Economic news: the blip in egg prices caused by bird flu is still the only thing to worry about.

What you desire is of lesser value than what you have found.

This post is dedicated to everyone who tried to tell me I'm overreacting.  :)

Would rather people address the actual points being made and sources provided rather than baiting into yet another messy thread derail over grievances.

I deleted that portion of the post. I was in a bitter mood at that time and I apologize for my vagueness. I ought to practice what I preach and not make passive aggressive comments.

I don't have any issue with the sources or stories posted etc.  I think the recent developments with Trump defying the Supreme Court ruling represents a constitutional crisis that could be the pivot point where basic rule of law is destroyed.

I just can't tell if she's referring to me or not, but if you're going to say I told you so and it even sounds like you might mean me,  then I'm going to respond.  Especially since it's kind of a running pattern at this point.  And I really resent the fact that it feels like I've basically gotten boxed in to seeming like I'm downplaying the Trump regime just because I questioned the trans holocaust.

I'm willing to admit this much: what they have done so far definitely exceeds what I was expecting both in terms of the pace and the brazen defiance of it all.  So if anything an actual genocide does seem more likely than it did a couple months app.  I still tend to think it's not particularly likely.  But the needle is obviously moving in the wrong direction.
