The problem with Hubcap sorry Kneecap is that they're demonstrating and promoting an Irish view that was popuiar in the 1970s and 1980s, but is totally outdated now and just makes them look stuck in a time warp. Also, using the Irish language is all well and good, but personally I say fuck the Irish language: I still have nightmares about being told to ask questions "As gaeilge! As gaeilge!" in Irish class. How fucking stupid! I don't understand this language, and you want me to put my question in Irish? Also, Irish national TV are trying to force the Irish language down our throats now. We have a dedicated Irish-language channel (TG 4) but a large percentage of the ads now on RTE 1 and RTE2 and even Virgin tend to be in Irish, often without subtitles, so it's impossible to know what they're saying.

Loko, I have no problem with Andy Capp sorry Kneecap fighting for and standing up for the people of Gaza, as everyone should. But if their protests are just being used to up their own profile and sell tickets, then that's pretty disingenuous, and no, I don't know the Irish word for that.

Best advice I can give is "Fan abhaile, lads" - stay home.

It is being used for that mate, it's trendy right now to jump on the Palestine bandwagon (and no I don't support Israel, I agree Israel is committing genocide and is a fucking disgrace but that isn't the point). Hence why they've shit themselves and backtracked. They don't want to lose their tour dates (they are losing them daily now). Got no principles. I don't know how anyone can take them seriously now. Can you imagine NWA backtracking like this. They'd have stood their ground and shouted even louder.

So the man who's going to be the US's ambassador to Ireland has no political experience    has never held such a post before  already is pushing Trump's anti-Palestine/pro-Israel agenda  and is also considering perhaps the establishment of a US air base to protect the cables that run under the Irish Sea!

Edited to add: you know, it really fucking pisses me off. This whole "confirmation hearing" reads as Trump saying "Go over there and put some manners on them Irish, and tell them to stop pissing around and do what we tell them." Fuck Walsh and fuck Trump. If he tries to start throwing his weight around over here, he may be spending some relaxing time under the soil up in the Dublin Mountains!

I can praise the idea behind it, but do we really think Ryanair are going to order jets from China rather than from the USA, deliberately snub Boeing, and not imagine that there'll be consequences from the Trump administration? BREAKING NEWS: IRISH AIRLINE REFUSED ENTRY TO USA ON GROUNDS OF NATIONAL SECURITY.

I have to say though, fucking fair play to Airbus: completely sold out through the decade! That's how to do it! An A380? Sorry mate, can't get one for love nor money. Very popular, they are.  Clearly doing far better than Boeing, who have ground to make up. Cue Trump rant AIRBUS SOLD OUT!!! US WORKERS BEING CHEATED!!! NOT FAIR!!!! BOYCOT (sp) AIRBUS!! MAGA!

EU has said it will be 3-6 years before the C919 is certified for EU. Trump should be gone before any deal is signed.
