I've never been a coffee person, I get through my days with diet soda and the occasional energy drink. My partner is more into coffee, I wish I could share his enthusiasm.

"stressed" is just "desserts" spelled backwards

This is the tea I like to get:

So how do people feel about the french press?

If you're not sure what it is, it's this thing:

I feel like out of the variety of brewers, this is one I don't like very much. The metal grille filter doesn't keep bitterness or cholesterol increasing fats out and the filter itself is a hassle to clean. It's folded over in a way that bits of coffee can get trapped in there and you have to dismantle it now and then to clean it out.

I feel like sometimes with a rougher grind, the taste from this method will lack depth, but going with a finer grind - which might be better for taste - will clog up the filter more.

Still, some people love their french presses.

I didn't start drinking coffee until I was in my early 40s. Now I drink iced lattes a couple times a week and the occasional cappuccino, but that's about it.

Throw your dog the invisible bone.

I cut down on the coffee, down to just one with breakfast.

I take it black.

Been drinking coffee again, mainly because I bought a bunch before I "quit"; and now I back drinking it to get rid of it.

Ahmad is quality tea, I really like even some of their sillier fruity blends

I'm really into Ethiopian coffee these days. Used to prepare it in a mocha pot but now I go for filter. I have a French press too but never liked it as much

Also I love the most basic American diner drip coffee. It's watery, it's rubbish and it's great

I also get Ahmad, mostly because the oriental supermarket around the corner sells it but it's nice. I get the loose leaf earl grey and mix it with ceylon or english breakfast

I get Yorkshire Tea.

I stopped drinking coffee and now have about four teas a day.

Every other tea brand is shit compared to Yorkshire Tea.

I'm just talking about the type of tea I drink, not the fancy teas that I think are posted above.

Also putting the tea bags in a flask with the boiling water and letting it cook all day then just pour and add milk when you want is miles better than boiling a kettle every time and waiting a few mins for the tea to brew. Flask cooking makes it extra tasty.

mixing the powder starbucks packets with water
adding cream

Ooo, coffee thread revival.

A trick I thought I'd try is adding just a little bit of water to the beans before grinding.

It's a trick that removes static electricity and coffee dust going everywhere, but some researchers also claim it improves flavour.

You can read more here: https://www.science.org/content/article/want-tastier-coffee-add-splash-water-grinding-beans

The required amount of water is miniscule, but a simple trick on how to apply this is described by this coffee youtuber:

Btw, another little trick that might improve flavour and roundness/fullness is adding a tiny sprinkle of salt.

Happiness is a warm manatee

I only started drinking coffee in my mid 20s. Mostly because it was a daily thing with my ex.

Now I drink filtered coffee. Nothing fancy. Just one medium cup in the morning and maybe a tiny cup after lunch, but that's more an exception than a rule. I add half milk and lately a Hazelnut additive. I quit drinking coffee for a year once and I gained a lot of weight. So that being the only difference I put a stop to that and it corrected itself.

Tea is interesting for me. I hate black tea but I'm known to drink green, chamomile, and various other concoctions. I like fruit tea, but not the kind with real tea in it. I'm sensitive to caffeine. And I almost always drink my tea with milk which I am to understand is a UK thing. There's always comments when I have tea with the family.
