The Smiths or The Cure?

I remember this was a topic on MB but I just wanted to know which one is more preferred.

Smiths hands down for me

The Cure for sure. I prefer the vocals, atmosphere, instrumental work, etc and they have like 10 albums worth of songs I like whereas I maybe like an albums worth of Smiths songs.

The Cure. The Smiths never did much for me apart from an occasional song but The Cure released consistently good albums from 1979 to 1992.

Honestly I like both but I mostly listen to The Smiths. To add on Morrissey is an asshole but The Smiths is a good band I love Andy Rourke though he's a good bassist "How Soon Is Now?" is charismatic that song was meant to attract people. Morrissey was accused of making weird comments about racism and him being xenophobic but not the rest of his band members. I don't support him but I like the band.

The Cure by a mile. The Smiths have a few songs I like, but the Cure have entire albums I love.
