Warning heeded.  I'm sure you'll love this one as an alternative.  :D

OK apologies for the absence but I was internet-less since Thursday. Just got back online today.

This week's colour then is YELLOW

"Yellow River" by Christie

"Yellow Pearl" by Phil Lynott

"Yellow" by Coldplay

A really obvious choice, but nevertheless a good song:

This is what you want. This is what you get.

Awesome, this gives me the opportunity to gush about the best Pearl Jam song you've never heard. Originally released only as a b-side to Jeremy (later added in some compilations but who listens to those?) Yellow Ledbetter never actually got its chance in the spotlight (like the also overlooked but awesome for different reasons Dirty Frank). This song is peak Pearl Jam at their absolute best and definitely in my top five Pearl Jam songs, what a fucking banger.

Maybe it's my age or where I live, but I think of "Yellow Ledbetter" as very well known. I do agree that it's one of PJ's best songs though.

It's a good point, checking the plays on spotify it is definitely up there as one of their biggest songs. I must have just missed the discourse (never heard anyone talk about it or heard it on the radio) and then just made the assumption that since it's not on Ten no one really knew of it. Does everyone know and love Dirty Frank too then? I suppose I have never really engaged in Pearl Jam discussions online in general.
