As already posted on MB I've become a huge fan of Louis Cole, his various projects and through him also found tons of other amazing artists in their own right he's collaborated with.
I'll be spamming lot's of stuff here but I'll start, as usual, with the live concert which is just pure fucking fun and excitement.
The new Knower album is my AOTY. This shit is tight, groovy and extremely entertaining.
Louis Cole's "Album 2" often gets overlooked, being overshadowed by his more funky and humorous recent output but it's such a beautiful piece of haunting, sometimes creepy, pop music.
Found chiquitamagic through her numerous collaborations with Louis Cole. Loving this track rn
Didn't expect any more videos from the new Knower album but then this came out and now I'm happy. (I was actually also happy before.
Knower Forever is a fun album, but it wears off after a few plays.
I haven't heard any of Louis Cole's other projects. I might give his album Time a listen.
Didn't wear off for me, probably my most listened album this year.
I wish Knower's Genevieve Artadi would record a full album of Brazilian music. This is beautiful.
Some more Brazilian music, at least vaguely so, from a frequent LC collaborator. Sam Gendel, most famously from Clown Core and Knower, playing some beautiful, soft folk-jazz(?) with Fabiano do Nascimento.
Somehow never listened that closely to this song. Don't know the original but this is a fucking banger with a delicious drop.
Knower drops are the best drops anyway
I was hoping they'd release a video for this song! Outstanding stuff.
I remember you talking about this dude before and I remember liking him.
So happy this came out!
I've been to one of those concerts and it's been fantastic but the sound wasn't great.
Hearing it here in all its epic glory is orgasmic.
tldr: LC with a fucking orchestra.
Another orchestrated one. In typical LC fashion, the second half always sounds like one long awesome outro.

Happy to see someone else enjoying this!
I saw that it's out but I'm waiting for the weekend to relax, put on my fancy headphones, smoke some weed and really get lost in it.

That sounds like a good plan, grindy. I'll take this opportunity to wish you a bon weekend!

This is another great one! Waiting for the album until August will be tough.
Surprisingly I thought Binney's sax solo was a bit underwhelming but probably simply due to the comparison to his other solos with Cole and co being usually so mindblowing.
Good to hear that you didn't overdo it with a massive carrot and end up comatose and not able to get back to us, grindy..
By underwhelming, do you mean he wasn't adventurous enough, perhaps too predictable and too much in agreement with the general uplifting vibe? He does seem to go with the flow without throwing in any weird curve balls or painful moans.
I don't know much of DB's stuff, but since we're talking about the extended universe, I remember watching the below one a couple of years ago with Pedro Martins and Genevieve Artadi with DB. Lots of catchy songs on there and surprisingly avant garde. "Catchy" and "avant garde" is like heaven. I love Edge of the Cliff and Nowhere to Go. The bassist is punching so high too.

I love this one. Even bought the double cd.
Can't say what's missing in the DB solo. Certainly nothing about being more adventurous. Whatevs. He still rocked it.
I really like this Cole-Binney collab. Cole as a jazz drummer is fearsome.
I just clocked that you were talking about a Spiders Egg double CD, and I'm like OMG they actually put this concert on CD. So I looked on discogs and indeed several are available at reasonable prices. So thanks man.
"Nothing" released today. And, as a very cool bonus, all of the songs added to youtube as live videos as well.
Unsurprisingly I'm loving the album. Have been waiting for it ever since I saw them in Wuppertal last year. Btw some of the footage of that concert can be seen in the videos, e.g. "Ludovici Cole Est Frigus", which was a verycool entry to see live.
As usual with Cole, the album is all over the place and could have been slightly trimmed and reordered, but also who cares if there's so much cool shit to enjoy.
Nice one grindy. Pump the orchestral funk to the max!
^ Finally got round to buying this CD on discogs for £12.00. Bargain basement.
I hope Louis Cole gets a cut, but as usual you never know where your money's going..
One guy on there commented that that album is like a hybrid between Weather Report and Bernard Hermann. Yeah, you're not wrong.

Ok, that description sold me. I'll bookmark to check this out after dinner tonight.
Trust you to feel that old school arrangers stuff, Lexi
