Joshua vs Whyte confirmed for August 12th, if he wins he's fighting Wilder in December.
Usyk vs Dubois August 26th confirmed.
Hopefully Usyk wins and it'll be Fury vs Usyk for undisputed the same night as Joshua vs Wilder. Talk of it being in Saudi.
I miss Rjinn. She would have been all over this thread. RIP 💐😞
Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou, October 28th in Saudi Arabia.
Boxing is a great sport ruined by nonsense. Top heavyweight in his peak fighting a non boxer instead of Joshua or Usyk. It's absolutely outrageous. What a waste.
Spence vs Crawford was pretty good.
It was a one sided beating and the ref stopped it. I understand why they do it but it's a bit boring imo, I want to see someone get hurt. That's why people are drawn to these sports.
Good fight though.

Isn't MMA a little more exciting? At least there seems to be a little more blood on the floor and perhaps fewer strikes to the head (I'd consider this good), although I might be wrong about that.

It is but timing is a problem for me as the events are always 4am and also the big events just don't excite me like a big boxing fight does.
UFC is run way better though. Boxing is a joke in that respect.
I was vaguely interested in Cecilie Brækhus, but now I'm not even sure if she boxes anymore.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cecilia_Br%C3%A6khus
The only UFC fight I saw was Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rowsey. That was great, of course, as Rowsey was an undefeated, smack talking favorite and got her ass handed to her by underdog Holly.
I remember that. I've seen a few.
When I was younger, one of my mates from school who I hung around with in the area started a group. They did music but also got up to no good. One of the lads in it was Leon Edwards. We're from the same part of Brum, I've followed him for a while and his second fight vs Usman is one of my all time sporting highlights.
Was amazing to see someone from here become the world champion.
A gym I used to work out at in Montreal years ago tried branching out into boxing and it didn't really work for them. The owner was really enthusiastic and tried to have me attend the trainings but I did the "polite but firm" thing.
Maybe I should've given it a shot. The one thing that kinda bugs me about doing just weight lifting is that you never do any rapid motions. I tried playing footb soccer in the park after years of only going to the gym and boy it was rough. I lost all the mobility I used to have and really struggled with how quick everything suddenly was.
Yeah I'm more into watching random MMA fights than boxing. If I watch a boxing match it has to br relative amateurs.
The past two years they had this event called Creator Clash. They set up a bunch of Twitch Streamers and Youtube personalities to box against each other for charity and I love it.

Can understand MMA > Boxing generally but the big fights for me are immense. I'd rather watch a superfight than 99% of football matches. Fury vs Wilder trilogy was 🔥
The YouTube thing is weird to me but not just the boxing, the whole thing. Suppose its just what kids are into now. YouTube is the new platform like film and sports were. YouTube stars are the new rockstars.
Usyk vs Dubois next weekend BTW that should be great.
Usyk vs Dubois tonight lads.
Massive heavyweight title fight.
Winner fights Fury next year.
Usyk on points for me.

It is on PPV but you don't need a sub. I stream everything and have done for about 15 years. There are ways to watch for free. It's like with music, you can buy it but if you're a scumbag like I am you will get it for free.
Usyk holds three of the belts. Undefeated and moved up to heavyweight after dominating the division below.
Dubois is a British heavyweight, in the top 10 and is the mandatory defence for Usyk.
Usyk is the strong favourite and rightly so. But it should be a good fight.
About to start.
Good luck Usyk 🇺🇦🥊

Usyk knockout in the 10th round.
And na, I like Usyk and how he's shown he will fight anyone, how he conducts himself, and want to see Usyk vs Fury for undisputed. Hopefully that should happen now.
I looked it up and saw there was some controversy / drama where Dubois claims a victory was stolen from him in 5th round after Usyk was downed by a shot to the stomach. It was deemed as a low blow, but Dubois' team claims it was legal.
Do you have a take on that? Was it a low blow?

It was low but even if it was the wrong decision, Usyk would have got up before the count so I don't accept that it was a robbery.

FINALLY SIGNED AND CONFIRMED.
My cock is so hard right now lads.
The biggest fight in boxing is finally happening. Bigger than Mayweather vs Pacquiao for me.
Two massive, undefeated bald bastards going at it for the undisputed Heavyweight title.
Should be December 23rd.

Also a nice little Christmas treat if it happens on the 23rd 🙂
How did ya feel about this one,
@jimmy jazz ? 🙂
Ngannou, with that physique, looks like an absolute beast.
It was the right decision but a really embarrassing night for Fury. Whether he underestimated Ngannou or didn't prepare right, I don't know. But no way should that have gone the full 10 rounds nor should he come out of it looking worse off.
People online overreacting massively cos they never expected Ngannou to be so good/Fury so bad, one person says its rigged and before you know it they all think it.
Fury vs Usyk confirmed and announced.
February 17th, 2024 in Riyadh.
All belts on the line.
QuoteHistory will be made on 17 February in Riyadh.
Never has there been a four-belt heavyweight undisputed world champion.
Fury and Usyk have sat firmly at the top of the division ever since the Ukrainian dethroned Joshua. The winner will now cement their legacy as the greatest of their generation.

Wilder was piss poor last night. I've warmed to him a lot though. He's much more respectful and gracious in defeat now.
I was actually rooting for him because I want him to smash AJ. I think that's probably the end for Wilder unless the fight with AJ is guaranteed next, he doesn't have any reason to continue really and he's a shadow of what he was.
AJ vs Wallin I listened to on the radio and it sounded like a one sided beat down. I'll catch it when it gets uploaded somewhere.
Fury vs Usyk February 17th, excited for it already.
Isn't also boxing day soon upon us?
Sounds like a day when Brits go around giving eachother gut punches.

In the queues for the shops or over the football that is played.
Not sure why it's cled Boxing Day tbh.

Should be Wilder vs AJ. Anyway I'll probably watch it because I'm a knob.

Fuck I missed this.
Fury is a freak in that he moves like a lightweight despite being 6 ft 7. He also has an exceptional boxing IQ. He has been boxing since he was a child and comes from a family of boxers.
Yes he would beat Mike Tyson imo. He's a superior boxer and he would take Mike's punching power. Fury would land more shots and win on points.
It's the big one this weekend.
Fury looks in GREAT shape. This must be the fittest and meanest he's ever been.
His dad headbutted someone at the press conference yesterday.
I can't wait to watch this.
I respect and like both fighters so I'm not too bothered who wins but it would be great for Fury to bring all the belts home.

It was scheduled for February 17th and then a couple of weeks out, Fury cut his eyebrow in training so they pushed it back three months to allow it to heal.

Absolutely brilliant fight.
Had a sneaky feeling Usyk might just do it. Felt like his time.
Never seen Fury as hurt as he was in the 9th.
Usyk is a worthy winner and a great champion.
Nice,
@jimmy jazz !
I read a little bit about Usyk and his efforts and things he said about being a soldier in Ukraine's war against Russia and he seems like a good dude.
I'll see if I can catch some highlights from the fight 🙂
One of the most one sided fights I've ever seen.
Joshua got humbled. Dubois deserves all the praise in the world.
So Rupaul or something is fighting Mike Tyson in less than a week's time and Netflix is marketing it.
Anyone looking forward to this?

It's going down Friday night and Mike Tyson is far from just a geriatric boxer.
Well.. Mike Tyson is clearly both intimidating and dangerous, but do you think he can really stand a chance against The Paulbearer, beater of old men?
I dunno.
He's nearly 60.
Jake Paul is a shithouse for taking the fight. There is no honour in beating someone twice your age.

Nope.
When you see Tyson stood in the ring before the fight even starts, you realise how old he is. Looked like a little old man.
Did you see the fight before this? Now that was a great fight.
Nah I only tuned in for the beginning of the main event. I have never really watched boxing and don't especially care about it but a lot of the youth I work with have been talking about it, so I feel somewhat obligated to be in the know. I just wanted to see if anything crazy happened but as soon as I went "aww" when Tyson took a right hook I was done. I don't need to watch an old man lose lol.

Yeah the women fighting was the best matchup.
We're very nostalgic. I like that, but sometimes it's a little sad too. New bands and artists have to compete with old ones. This year's possibly biggest boxing event's main draw is someone who was at the top of his game in the mid 80s. So much market is cornered by old stuff and old people.
Yeah and people glossed over him being a convicted rapist but I guess he has paid his debt to society so now it's okay and he's allowed to be revered.
Quote from: DJChameleon on Nov 16, 2024, 08:12 AMYeah the women fighting was the best matchup.
I reckon combat sports and also tennis, they can compete as far as entertainment goes.
Serrano/Taylor were throwing so many punches and they both got hurt, I'd watch that before some of the top fights I've seen. Mayweather for example, boring cunt. It was fast paced and brutal, that's what I want in my fights.
Quote from: jimmy jazz on Nov 12, 2024, 05:17 PMHe's nearly 60.

I can tell you are no fan of Jake Paul
I'm not a fan either, rather, I'm completely indifferent about him. Never watched any of his Youtube content, just know that he's popular.
But I had a different impression - after round 2 or 3, it became pretty obvious that Paul was restraining himself to me and was trying not to seriously hurt Tyson. My dad and uncles grew up watching Tyson fight, so I've heard many stories...like the time my Dad asked my uncles to record his fight against Buster Douglas because he was going out on a date with my Mom - he came back and said: "So how was the fight?" to which my Uncles were like: "It was...pretty good. It'll probably be a little different than you expect".
I told my Dad before this fight that I'd be seriously surprised if Tyson won - the thirty year age gap was striking and father time is unbeaten. Even Iron Mike isn't immune. But anyways, I don't think Paul is a 'shithouse' or whatever for taking the fight - both he and Tyson knew it would sell big, and it did. And Paul paid respect to the legend that is Mike Tyson and didn't embarass him in the ring when all indicators say that he could have if he wanted. So my respect for Jake Paul actually grew a little bit after watching the fight.
The way the commentators talked about it though had me cracking up - like can Jake Paul
really say he beat Mike Tyson? If Tyson was in the nursing home and the caretakers beat him up, could they say they
beat Mike Tyson?
Other people apparently had similar thoughts which resulted in some pretty funny memes:

The biggest loser of the night in my opinion? Netflix - because they were obviously completely unprepared for the load their streaming servers would be under, despite ample time to prepare (even more time than initially thought due to a months-long delay).

Anyways - like Mayweather vs. McGregor, this fight was more spectacle than substance.
If it was a one off then maybe it'd be different, I know he's playing the game but he's also trying to be a legit boxer.
Fight some professional boxers then.
I'd like to see him fight one of those women last night. Reckon they'd have him tbf.

Amazing. I can't wait.
It's fight night.
Cannot wait for this.
I think Fury may knock him out. If it goes longer than 7 rounds then it is hard to think Fury can hang in there against Usyk.
I think we'll see a ferocious Fury desperate to finish this early.
Fury KO round 6.
ABOUT TO START
LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE
@Guybrush
Usyk deserves everything. One of the all time greats and you can't say anything negative about him. Up there with anyone.
Poor form from Fury to walk off without doing his interview. Really bad from him.

I just saw the highlights and they did seem relatively one-sided in Usyk's favour perhaps besides a couple of rounds.
I'm amazed Fury didn't get KOed really. That one match.. was it 7 or 8th? Just hanging on the ropes, not able to defend himself properly and taking more hits. He's really good at taking punches and barely staying up.
Seemed like a really exciting match and a lot better than the Tyson vs. Rupaul event 👌
Realized I had watched the wrong highlight reel 😄 So Fury vs. Usyk 2 was less one-sided, but still seemed a deserved win for Usyk imo.

I thought that. Was he 9th in the first round BTW, and yes that was the worst I've seen Fury hurt before.
It was definitely a deserved win.
I was thinking last night I don't think I've ever seen a boxing fight where you didn't have fans after crying about robbery and corruption.
It's pathetic.
There's a good chunk of people who think Fury won last night. No fucking way did he.
