Title: The Longest Yard (American Football Discussion Thread)
Post by: DJChameleon on May 27, 2023, 02:37 PM
All the NFL related content to be discussed in this thread.

3 more months until season starts up.

I guess we can kick this off by talking favorite teams and how long you have been fans of said team.

I'm a big time 49ers fan back from the days of Steve Young as a QB.

My secondary team is the Bills. I started to become a Bill Mafia member back when Jim Kelly was QB. I don't like any other team. I despised the Patriots and Buccaneers but mostly because of Brady.

The Giants vs. Jets game was pretty decent last night.

I don't like either of those two NY teams so I didn't care much but I did want to see Mr. Waffles Rodgers as QB for the Jets and see how he would do.

Jets might have a decent run this season.

My team the 49ers lost their last game and I haven't seen any preseason games of the Bills. Those are my two teams.

I was thinking about starting up a Fantasy Football league but I don't know how much interest we have and I can't run it/start it up myself. Someone else would have to take the lead.

We're one day away from the season opener! Who's ready for some football?!

Which teams are you following? Who's got some predictions for the season? I'll give you mine below, so that when the season ends, everyone can point and laugh at how much of an idiot I was:

AFC

1. Chiefs; 2. Bengals; 3. Jets; 4. Jaguars; 5. Bills; 6. Ravens; 7. Chargers.

Wild card: Chargers over Bengals, Ravens over Jets, Jaguars over Bills.

Divisional: Chiefs over Chargers, Jaguars over Ravens.

Conference championship: Chiefs over Jaguars.

NFC

1. 49ers; 2. Eagles; 3. Cowboys; 4. Packers; 5. Seahawks; 6. Lions; 7. Panthers.

Wild card: Eagles over Panthers, Cowboys over Lions, Seahawks over Packers.

Divisional: 49ers over Seahawks; Eagles over Cowboys.

Conference championship: 49ers over Eagles.

Super Bowl: Chiefs over 49ers (unless Darnold is starting).

So many storylines this season:

Will Jordan Love rise to the occasion for the Packers?

Can the Bills finally put it all together, or has their window closed?

Can the Chargers somehow mitigate injury and make something happen in the playoffs?

Can the Chiefs be the first to go back to back since the Patriots in the early 2000s?

How will Mr. Waffles Rodgers look with the Jets?

Will Sean Payton be able to save Russel Wilson and the Denver Broncos, or is Russ cooked?

Will Jimmy G be able to stun his AFC west rivals with his awe-inspiring handsomeness and make a surprise playoff appearance?

How will well-known respecter-of-women Deshaun Watson look in his first full season since 2020?

Was Jalen Hurts incredible play last year something that can be sustained, or will he regress to the mean?

Will the Cowboys once again lose in the playoffs in absolute hilarious fashion?

Let's talk about it.

Betting on football games was a thrill but I don't want to lose any money but just watching the games will be fun this year. I want the Bears to do well this year. Going to want the Jets to win too.

The Giants vs Cardinals game over the weekend was so awesome. What a comeback! I'm not even a Giants fan but that's great football.

@SGR

Yeah this is the official football thread. I had this weird idea to make each sports thread named after movies which incorporated the sports.

So I get that it didn't immediately stand out as being a NFL thread.

My Bills are 2-1 in the season so far. Doing well.

My Niners are 3-0 which is to be expected.

I think it's kind of funny how almost all NY sports teams are ass this year so far with Bills being the exception.

I'm sad about my Niners losing their last two games. It was incredibly close both times. Lost the first one because the kicker choked. MNF loss against the Vikings got intercepted near the end where they could've possibly been close enough to get a touchdown before the end of the game.

Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott apologizes for citing 9/11 attackers as an example of teamwork (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/bills-coach-sean-mcdermott-apologizes-911-attackers-teamwork-speech-rcna128683)

QuoteBuffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott was on the defensive Thursday after it emerged that he used the Sept. 11 terrorist attack as an example of good teamwork in a speech to his players.

In an attempt to emphasize the importance of togetherness, he cited the 9/11 hijackers — who killed nearly 3,000 people in the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil — as an occasion where everyone was "on the same page."

The remarks were made during a team meeting four years ago, but were not reported until Thursday.

Idiotic choice for an analogy but I wonder about the timing of this being revealed now, after being ignored/buried for four years.

Sorry about your Niners lol. The Ravens have been on a fucking tear lately.

I've watched the Ravens for all of Lamar's time in Baltimore, and they're usually regular season juggernauts and a quick playoff exit. I want to see them duplicate what they've been doing in the playoffs before I'm convinced they're the real deal. And if I don't get to see the Flacco-led Browns take on the Ravens in a playoff game, I will riot.

Way the Chiefs have been playing, I'd be happy if they can win just one playoff game.

It's the football gods having a laugh at Buffalo's expense, given that they lost Super Bowl XXV on a wide right FG attempt - Scott Norwood. "Wide Right" is practically considered an obscenity in Buffalo.

I'd like Lions v. Chiefs, but the Chiefs are going to have to do everything right, and have a little luck go their way against the Ravens.

It's not too late for that Super Bowl 54 rematch we talked about.  :checkmark:

But to your point, Baltimore is gonna be a tougher out than Buffalo. Chiefs would have to make basically no mistakes if they want to keep up.

I think it's wonderful for the Chiefs and for the NFL as a whole. And I hope Taylor continues to attend every single Chiefs game until Travis retires. If it takes George Soros money and a pop superstar to dethrone that dirty cheating dink-and-dunk bastard Tom Brady and his alumni group of spies and football deflators, then I hope the Chiefs become the wokest institution in professional sports history.

Aaron Rodgers to Skip All of Jets Minicamp for Odd Reason, per Report (https://www.si.com/nfl/aaron-rodgers-to-skip-all-of-jets-minicamp)

I've gotta admit, I always enjoy the inevitable offseason Aaron Rodgers drama. I think the Germans would call that 'schadenfreude'.

What do you think @DJChameleon, where is Rodgers? Is he at an Ayuhuasca retreat in Colombia or Peru?

It doesn't even matter where he is. He can stay there for all I care. He should get fined for missing mandatory training.

From the sounds of it, it sounds like he will be getting fined. Rodgers comes off as so aloof and pretentious, I don't know how young players relate to him. Maybe he's different in person.

Thanks for reminding me about that. I had heard it was on Netflix and then I forgot about it (I don't use Netflix very often). Loved the Quarterback series from last year, so I'm guessing this will be just as good! And Kittle is hilarious - love how he hams it up for the cameras.

I liked it more than the QB one personally -
Sorry to wholesome af Kirk Cousins and all but god what a boring group.

A lot more personality in this one. I'm a new fan Amon-Ra St Brown especially. Also heard a rumor that Brandon Aiyuk and Davante Adams are going to swap teams and as much as I like Aiyuk I'm not mad about him knowing his worth.

lol alright, I'm gonna be honest. I didn't have Netflix at the time it came out so I uhh....found a very legal link to watch it a different way - and I only watched the Mahomes bits (thanks r/KansasCityChiefs!). That probably colored my perception of the series. Because you're right, Cousins is awfully boring. And I can't imagine Marcus Mariota of all people is any less boring. For what it's worth though, if I had kids, and I was forced to pick an NFL QB to babysit them, I'd probably choose Kirko Chainz. He'd bring 'em to church, give them only one cookie, and get them to bed on time!

I hadn't heard the Davante Adams/Aiyuk trade rumour. That would be kinda wild. Aiyuk is great, but Davante is even better. If you really wanna get rid of Aiyuk though, and the Davante trade doesn't materialize (I'm betting it won't), I'll trade you Kadarius Toney and a bag of chips for him.

You think there's another series like this cooking for Netflix?

Long Snapper?

Kick Returner?

Jokes aside, I'd guess if they do another one, it'll be about either offensive and defensive linemen or running backs. Either would be interesting.

Not nearly as cool as Flav sponsoring women's polo but alright lul.

Preseason has been annoying though I agree. Sounds like we're keeping Aiyuk though which is like, FUCK DUDE PAY THE MAN!!! Why are you playing like that??!? FUCK. I hate that the NFL is just another corporate business. Did I tell you my new boss used to play for the Raiders? He's told me so much shady shit that went down during his time it's hard to look at anything the same. It's certainly not the best players getting the best deals, let alone playing time. It's gross. And I feel like KC is the embodiment of purchasing star power. GROSS!

You definitely did not mention your boss played for the Raiders lol. What position did he play? You don't have to give his name or anything. Was he with them for a long time?

I don't doubt that people in the NFL, whether players or otherwise, have a lot of dirty laundry they could air. The NFL is so entertaining that it is easy to forget that, at the end of the day, it's a business just like McDonald's is a business and the product on the field is the primary concern. By KC being the embodiment of 'purchasing star power', do you just mean they are at an unfair advantage in signing talent? If so, I mean, I think that comes with winning two Super Bowls back to back. Juju Smith Schuster did well in a one year deal there in his signing to the Patriots. Riding the coattails you could say.

He was drafted out of college and played from 2008-2010 until a back injury took him out (which revealed an entirely sinister subplot in his whole story). He was going to sign with 49ers in 2010 but their doctor couldn't clear him and actually told him that his previous docs did not have his best interests in mind. He ruptured some discs and they injected him with steroids to keep him playing until eventually his discs were just rubbing together bone on bone with his spinal cord pinched in between. He is very lucky to still be able to walk.

Then he got the boot and was hooked on pain pills and his wife left him. I don't know how he bounced back but he is the shit. I love working with him. Definitely some CTE there, but I'm good at figuring out the word he's trying to remember lol.

That's actually really cool. Flav has always been a hilarious and genuine dude.

And Jesus, it's not something I often think about, but the doctors most players deal with are on the payroll of the team, do I have that right? In other words, they've got the best interest of the team in mind over perhaps the best interest of the individual player. Very glad he's doing okay now though.

Speaking of addiction to pills, my Dad is who got me into football. He is a Chargers fan (one of the brave, one of the few, and one of the miserable) since he was a wee lad. You can imagine how much fun him and I have given that I'm a Chiefs fan. But anyways, I don't know if you remember, but the Chargers drafted Ryan Leaf second overall in the 1998 draft (after only Peyton Manning himself). Leaf was a legendary draft bust. He was a diva and he had a horrible work ethic and loved to party. He ended up fizzling out after a couple of disappointing seasons. He ended up going to prison after racking up drug possession, burglary, and domestic abuse charges. I believe he had at least a couple stints in prison. He was addicted to opiod pills.

Anyways, my father hates the guy, as most Charger fans do. A dark time for their franchise. So my brother and I, a couple years ago, hatch a brilliant joke Christmas gift for our father. We found Ryan Leaf on that Cameo site where you can pay celebrities to record custom video messages. So we come up with this idea - we got a whole bunch of friends and relatives to record personalized 'Merry Christmas' videos tailored specifically for our father and compiled it together with Ryan Leaf's video that he sent us - we pop it on the TV during Christmas - and then, after 5 minutes or so had passed...up pops Ryan Leaf, addressing my father by name and saying: "San Diego Chargers legend, Ryan Leaf here..." (we asked him to say that  ). Needless to say, we got Ryan Leaf to tell our Dad how great of a father he was and how special of a person he was to his boys. And believe it or not...my Dad was not happy about it. He said to my mother later on: "If they're going to just get me a joke gift, they might as well not get me a gift at all!" For my brother and I, it was still $150 well spent. You shoulda seen his face though after Ryan Leaf appeared on screen addressing him by name...

Yeah dude exactly. He said it's changed a lot since his time, but on his way to an appointment he straight up overheard the Raiders doc say about the player who had just left his office, "let him play, he's not going to be with us in two years anyway." Supposedly it's better now.

Christ almighty, well I hope it's better now. The NFL is still working toward a better balance of entertaining sports and safety for the players (can we get rid of artificial tuf yet?) - I think I read that the new guardian caps will actually be allowed if a player wants to use them in season, but I'm guessing it will take a decent few brave souls before that starts becoming normal, otherwise they'll be shamed, which is sad to think about. Yeah, they look goofy, and yeah, it'd be better if a helmet could be designed without the goofy appearance that offers the same protection, but you gotta start somewhere I guess.

Yup lol, if my Dad wants Mahomes to do it, he'll probably have to wait a long while. Heck, maybe he could get Ryan Leaf to do it, as a person who knows very intimately what a failure of a person is when he sees it.

Well, I guess it depends on how you frame it. If I was him I'd tell people: "I'm in a motherfucking video game!!!" I could be the 'Dan' of Street Fighter but damn, if I'm in the game, I don't know how much I'd really care about how effective my character is in terms of the stats. This hits because I'm considering buying Madden 25 when it releases this Friday - the last one I have is Madden 21, I definitely don't buy it every year. By the way, did this boss of yours provide any hot takes on Jon Gruden (despite that he wasn't there during his tenures)?

Don't be a coward - watch the video!

My family routinely makes fun of me because of how many condiments I use. If I'm having chicken tenders for example, it's rather normal for me to have six condiments or so on my plate - barbecue sauce, ranch, honey mustard, chipotle mayo, sweet and sour sauce and buffalo sauce.

So I gotta respect a guy like Levis who leans into his condiment love. Chipotle mayo might be my favorite. Very versatile. Great with hot dogs, burgers, fries (both regular and sweet potato), onion rings, fried pickles and chicken tenders (basically anything that's fried really, except I wouldn't use it with fried shrimp, which I prefer with both cocktail sauce and tartar sauce).

Eh, once every 2 weeks or so because they're pretty easy to make. I don't eat frozen food, so I make 'em myself. Some olive oil in an electric skillet to crisp 'em up nice and golden. And for me, it's condiments directly on the plate, no ramekins.

I love hot sauce, but not on chicken tenders for whatever reason. Love it on my burgers and tacos though. I like spice in general - my uncle kinda got me into spicy foods (well him, plus learning in college how much I liked the sensation of the 'burn' of a good bourbon), because growing up, my Mom never made anything spicier than the 'hot mustard' you could find at McDonald's. Him and I would do these 'hot food' challenges together. Some of the more notable ones I remember were the Toe of Satan challenge, the Paqui 'One chip' challenge, and the Death Nut challenge (this one was the absolute worst one I've done - it was so bad, that after completing the challenge, I actually threw up, my body straight up rejected that shit and I basically shat molten lava for the next two days - when you get to that level of heat, it's like Satan himself has started a bonfire in your brain, you can't think of anything but the enduring heat and pain, you start to realize you're drooling but you can't even feel the drool, you start to physically move and contort as some kind of bodily defense mechanism to your impending regret, time slows down, and then the tunnel vision... - check out some Youtube videos of people doing the challenge on Youtube if you're into schadenfreude).

I love spices and condiments in general though - when it comes to food, I'm big on texture, and I'm big on variety of flavors. I'm the guy who thinks the more toppings on a pizza, the better.

I like spice, but not torturous heat - miss me with those masochistic challenges lol. I really appreciate and enjoy the flavors of a hot Thai curry, for example. Certain hot sauces can elevate a dish, or make it inedible. It's all about balance.

Electric skillet, huh? What's the benefit of that?

I completely agree in terms of balance. It's about elevating the dish - but if it gets to the point where the heat completely drowns out the other flavors, then there's not much point to it in my eyes. For example, I make this delicious steak stirfry that I routinely top with a decent amount of red pepper flakes. Recently got some smoked ghost chili flakes from Trader Joe's and without much thought, put the same amount of them on my stirfry as I do red pepper flakes. Big mistake, as they were quite a lot hotter - and I couldn't taste much else.

The big benefit to electric skillets is providing a consistent and even heat, which you don't really get with a regular skillet on a stovetop. Most of them are also larger than your standard skillets which allows you to cook more food in them (which also means you could could more easily cook a double or triple batch and have leftovers for the week).

Hm. I'll stick to my cast iron and gas range I think.

It's funny you mention that, I got an air fryer for the first time a couple years ago and now I can't imagine life without it! It makes for delicious and crispy wings, chicken drumsticks, and fries! Much better than what you'd get out of an oven. Also great for reheating leftovers.

I use it every single day! All the roasted veg my little heart could desire. I want to upgrade to a fancy digital one and use it to dehydrate fruit and maybe even make jerky???

Speaking of wings though, would I be right in guessing you're a drum guy?

You'd be wrong, Im more of a wing guy than a drum guy

Again, for me, it comes down to flavor, or specifically flavor to meat ratio - with wings you have a much more equal flavor to meat ratio, whereas with drums, you have a ratio that weighs heavily towards the meat instead of the flavor. This isn't always a bad thing, but it depends on the meat - and chicken, among other meats, is a fairly bland meat indeed. I don't know anyone who simply cooks a plain chicken breast as they might do for a steak - if I did know those people, I'd assume they were psychopaths.

My interest is definitely piqued! The stovetop burners in our new apartment seem to have pretty uneven heating compared to the stove in our old place. I don't know if it's worth a shot to call maintenance about the stove since the unit is technically fully functional. I can deal with it generally but it's been a bit obnoxious when making stuff like pancakes and breakfast meats. I wonder if I should look into something like what you described.

If you want even heat, and a large amount of space to cook a meal for you and Aaron, an electric skillet might be a great buy! They're really affordable too - this one for example on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Elite-Gourmet-EG2212-Electric-Dishwasher/dp/B0BYLX91ZL/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2JAMKN4T04CGF&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9._Pa-y5HPzIbpHO9ZpHbLttNNOfdd0opm-UeQRVx8D1TzblukxrHvsb4CCcLa-3kzJhGDmxxVSmnc--Y6mkEnY-coBDmbKpC4FTmAUq7N9QE9tRKF_7Wzq3WKhJc-U4WOIpsyKztTq1V9wulRUo1nDdsHIca3j6z0jRc2QoQscj1HM-WVpAQM6bFFIaiTnE9nqJeO2DzzxvL15uglv9NrAVFb2h1zI7fMZDxhB42HJtI.gtBMLTeUdyC4ikyK-inCEzIvxD4ihGleCVbqp6v7jdQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=electric%2Bskillet&qid=1725148113&sprefix=electric%2Bskille%2Caps%2C219&sr=8-1&th=1) is just a little north of $30 and looks similar to the one I have.

If you wanna be sold on it, check this Youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvFZjo5PgG0) out - this guy gives a great summary of the benefits of electric skillets, including actual long-term health benefits compared to the use of regular stovetop skillets.

It was a bludgeoning! I watched the whole thing last night. Patriots O-line is putrid. Their defense played worse than their capabilities, but it doesn't help when they get at most a few minutes break thanks to their offense going 3 and out. Aaron Rodgers looked as good as he did a few years ago though. The guy can still throw an insanely beautiful ball.

This was the funniest moment to me - came after the game - Pats rookie QB Drake Maye said, still in his Pats uniform: "I'm waiting for the GOAT" referring to Aaron Rodgers, who was doing an Amazon interview after the game and Maye wanted to greet him. I'm sure Pats fans will love that.

They rested all their starters since they had the 1 seed locked up with nothing to play for - so as a result, the Broncos laid an ass-whupping on the Chiefs second/third stringers because they needed to win that game to make the playoffs. As a result of the Chiefs losing though, the Bengals were eliminated, which I don't mind.

I think he was in his head a little too much during the Lions game, but I've always believed in Darnold, and it's been so great to see him finally succeed when he has good coaching and good personnel (for the first time in his career). I mean, to an extent he does - but nowhere near the level of underdog status as Darnold has. I mean, Goff has already been to a Super Bowl and the Lions have the 1 seed, while Monday will mark Darnold's first playoff game ever and he was drafted back in 2018. Sometimes, after he's been rattled enough, he gets jittery and nervous in clean pockets, but other times, he gets absolutely blindsided. He took some seriously questionable sacks too, like bro, come on, you gotta throw it away. Didn't help that the Vikings o-line was porous either. KOC with some seriously questionable play calls too. Like, the run game has basically not worked all game, there's nothing there - why are you running the ball with less than 6 mins to go in the third quarter when you're down 3 scores? It's almost like he just gave up.

Sad to see - Darnold probably lost himself a good chunk of change with just these last two games.

Minnesota is fucking cursed. Cursed, I tell you!

I take a nap and wake up to see Lions lost and TikTok got shut down two hours early. Worst timeline.

Cthagod said there would be an upset this weekend but I was hoping the Chiefs would screw up.

I honestly didn't know that - of course, I knew E-40 was though

What a rough way to lose for the Ravens today - if only Andrews held on for the 2pt attempt, they would've had a chance, possibly in overtime. Lamar made a few mistakes in the first half, but damn, I know the media is going to give him shit this week for the loss.

When are the Ravens finally going to decide to move on from Harbaugh and try something new?
Title: Re: The Longest Yard (American Football Discussion Thread)
Post by: degrassiknoll on Jan 20, 2025, 05:29 AM
Yeah that was tough. I'm glad for my Bills but Lamar is hands down the best qb in the league imo. Andrews and Henry both with the brutal drops - was it the snow or wtf happened to them? So many slips and fumbles.
Title: Re: The Longest Yard (American Football Discussion Thread)
Post by: degrassiknoll on Jan 20, 2025, 05:33 AM
I really don't know what will come of Bills vs Chiefs, but I feel like the Commanders will beat the Eagles. It's been a weird year of football.

Agree about Harbaugh btw. Felt the same about Shanahan until he finally gave OC to someone else ffs. Our DC and special teams coaches all need to be fucking overhauled.
Title: Re: The Longest Yard (American Football Discussion Thread)
Post by: SGR on Jan 20, 2025, 04:29 PM
The ball being slippery did not help, but Andrews has had big drops in the playoffs before - if memory serves it was the divisional game in the 2019 season against the Titans (which the Ravens went on to lose).

Ravens social media, talk about aging like milk:

I think the Chiefs are currently favored over the Bills by 1.5 points, while the Eagles are favored over the Commanders by 5 points - as a result, Eagles now have the best odds to win the Super Bowl.

If the Bills beat the Chiefs and go on to lose to the Eagles, then they will be 0 - 5 in the Super Bowl and will have lost one to every team in the NFC East (and only losses to the NFC East). If they play the Commanders, it'll be a rematch of Super Bowl 26.

That is such a fucking difficult game to predict. My heart is telling me the Commanders will win it, my head is telling me that my heart is misguided and the Eagles will take care of business. If it turns into a shootout, I'm not sure that Jalen Hurts is in the condition right now to win that - and even if he was, I have doubts about Hurts' ability as a passer when it's crunch time. I've yet to see Jayden Daniels even rattled, and I have no reason to think the lights will be too bright for him - even though him winning this game would make history as he'd be the first rookie QB to start in a Super Bowl.

Fuck it, I'll ride with my heart this time around and say the Commanders will do enough to limit Barkley and the Eagles run game, and find a way to get it done and stun the Eagles. Commies by 3.

Well that sucked.

Hurts played incredibly well though. The Eagles D-line just dismantled the Chiefs O-line - generating constant pressure without ever blitzing. A total and complete mismatch that the Chiefs just could not find a solution to. Chiefs D did manage to mostly shutdown Saquon Barkley, but that wasn't enough - their effort wasn't helped by Mahomes' two costly turnovers.

What did y'all think about Kendrick's halftime show?

Yeah that Defense earned their keep. I was hoping that they would completely shut out the Chiefs with no score at the Super Bowl that would have been hilarious.

I liked Kendricks performance. I saw a lot of people online bitching about it. I loved Sam Jackson narratoring in between songs and the whole Playstation symbols stage set up.

^ That's gross.

Personally, I really liked his halftime show.

My only thing was that I have much more nostalgia attached to his earlier material (as you'd imagine, given it was my college days). I was hoping for at least one track from GKMC but didn't get it. I totally get why he'd want it to feature GNX so heavily, being his latest record though. A minor gripe really. I also liked how the stage setup was more minimalist, giving more focus to the music.

When it comes to the last six Super Bowls, these are my top 3 halftime shows:

1. Dre/Snoop/Em/50/Kendrick
2. Kendrick/SZA
3  Shakira/J.Lo

I've seen some complain that Lil Wayne was snubbed - I guess being in NOLA, it would've made more sense to have Wayne do the show instead of Kendrick, but obviously Kendrick has a lot more cultural currency right now than Wayne does. Wayne has slowly become yesterday's news. How cool would it have been though if Wayne did perform, and the surprise guests were Juvenile, B.G. and Turk (Hot Boys reunion)?

I didn't know this, but apparently Jay-Z has some kind of branding deal with the NFL and he's basically got sole control over deciding who performs at the halftime show.
Title: Re: The Longest Yard (American Football Discussion Thread)
Post by: DJChameleon on Feb 12, 2025, 06:43 AM
Yeah I knew about the Jay Z connection. I was hoping Kendrick would let Wayne come out for just one song but it would throw off the narrative he created which was dope to me. I did want to hear like blacker the berry and Alright or maybe even Swimming Pools but he did Alright when he performed during Dre's spotlight hour thing a few years back.

My minor gripe about the performance was the sound mixing issues. I think is vocals were a bit lower and needed to be turned up.

Yeah, I wanted Swimming Pools - definitely one of my favorite Kendrick tracks. And yeah, the mixing of the performance could have been better.

I wouldn't rule out Wayne getting to do a Super Bowl halftime show eventually, he definitely deserves it, he'd put on a hell of a show, and all of the millennials would love it, even the ones who don't listen to hip hop ("I remember that song!") - more often than not, the shows have featured artists who are pretty well past their prime (just look at Usher last year) - I think that's more common than featuring an artist at the peak of their powers like Kendrick.

Oh yes, I have. A crazy story for sure. As a Chiefs fan myself, I can be somewhat crazy, but probably no crazier than other NFL fans. That being said, Arrowhead Stadium does hold the record for loudest crowd noise recorded:

It happened years ago, so it's not as widely talked about as Chiefsaholic, but one Chiefs superfan, known as Helmet Man, had an equally if not more interesting life. Here's an old but very insightful article on him from the KC Star in 2003 (https://archive.ph/LL19t)
