Time to move on. I've been thinking about it, and honestly, voting doesn't work, as Trump has shown us. Mostly we get two votes as the highest and everyone else votes for their own choice, one vote each. I don't vote. There aren't enough of us to make that work, so here's the new deal.
In future, each person participating (Mixtaper?) will get their chance to pick the theme. This will rotate through the membership, so whoever picks this theme won't be eligible to pick again until everyone else has had a go, even me. The fairest way I can see of doing this is alphabetically by username, so here's the order:

Hey! Wait a minute! I'm last? Uh, no, let's do it in REVERSE alphabetic - oh, all right then. Grumble grumble always last pick on the guy who does all the work revenge soon take everyone sorry...
If anyone new happens to join they'll be slotted in alphabetically, and if or when our lovely Lexi comes back we will pop her in just between Guybrush and Lisnaholic (ooh!). Anyone changing their username (not that any of us really do, other than Deepminder or whatever he's calling himself this week) will then be reassigned a new place on the basis of this new username.
Note: if someone is on holiday or otherwise unable to choose the theme, let me know and the turn will pass to the next person in line.
Warning: If you're chosen and don't pick a theme sharpish, I will turn up on your doorstep with my bags packed and my wife and kids, don't test me. What? Oh no: I will marry and have kids and turn up on your doorstep. And they will NOT be well-behaved kids and we will stay for an indeterminate time. And we won't pay rent or help with the groceries or the bills. Don't make me do it!

So we had our theme announced on May 6, which means I'd like to have all songs in by May 13 (next Tuesday). I will create the tape then and release it on Wednesday, after which you'll have till the following Wednesday (May 21) to get your reviews in, then we go on with mixtape 6.
Anyone who has a problem with this, I hate you.

I'll extend this for a few more days, but honestly, it's a little disappointing. I know everyone has more important things to do, but it doesn't take long to just send a song suggestion. This is how the idea died at MB: people were enthusiastic at the start then dropped off. I have two submissions so far, not including mine.

If the general interest is slipping, and you want to finish this, or put it on hiatus, let me know, because frankly it's a lot of work chasing you guys. It's a fun thread and it works well when we all take part, but I don't intend to keep attempting to whip this dead animal which is no longer with us if nobody else cares.
Don't mean to sound snippy, but I can't keep pushing and pushing and getting nothing back. I want(ed) to get this going for Wednesday and it's now Monday with half of you still to respond, so, you know.
