New album is pretty good guise.
Been enjoying it.
Lady Gaga is talented. Haven't heard her latest, and I like a fair few of her tracks, but I'll probably always remember her most for her AHS role than any of her music.
Oh yeah, like her albums with Tony Bennett too:
She seems a good person too.
What's AHS?

American Horror Story, a TV Show. She played a big role in the fifth season, "Hotel" as
The Countess, the carrier of a blood virus.
Cheers, not really into TV tbh so never heard of it.

The show used to be really good - it was right around the seventh season, "Cult", where things started to fall off a bit. The season overall was still enjoyable but...well....judge for yourself.
she was the first artist to have a number one hit that included the word 'transgender' in the lyrics. i'm afraid i have no choice but to stan
But for real, her first three releases are freaky pop perfection and the new album has a lot of shades of that era in it too. She lost me for a while, I found a lot of her projects post 2014 or so to be pretty bland, but the new album is easily the best thing she's done in years (though I also enjoyed the Chromatica remix album from 2021 a lot as well).
Didn't Queen write a song about her?

Other way around actually, her stage name is a direct reference to that song. :)
Must have been thinking of that other song, the one about the Irish rip off of her. You know: Lady O'Gaga ;)

 Very drollheart !
I was very surprised at how many good songs there were on
The Fame and
Fame Monster albums, above and beyond the smash hit singles. She's a great songwriter, but my interest in her fell of a cliff when she made that Tony Bennett album: who needs yet more reworkings of those old songs?! I don't mind someone digging up an old song if they're going to add something new to the original, but, afaik, TB & LG didn't have anything fresh to contribute. In fact, the way LG just took on board a bunch of old clichés had a big negative impact on my respect for her, tbh.
I would agree with that whole idea being so played out. Rod Stewart doing "The Great American Songbook" (5 volumes or something - talk about overkill!), Michael Bolton doing showtunes, Westlife doing Sinatra numbers and Robbie Williams "Swing When You're Winning"? From a gallows, maybe!
^ 5 vols !! :yikes: I'm happy to say that I haven't heard any of that material you mention, with the possible exception of
Swing When You're Winning, which rings a faint bell...
How about some Lady Gaga favourites to enliven this thread ?
^ I have good memories of discovering how much I liked this song.
Am I missing anything as good in Lady Gaga's post-
Fame Monster repertoire ? Anything as good as her delivery of the phrase "
brow ow ow neyes" ?
