Title: Artifical (lack of) intelligence: when your phone just don't understand
Post by: Trollheart on Mar 05, 2025, 01:53 AM
How many times have you been texting and your phone anticipates - wrongly - what you want to say, offering you words that either don't make sense, don't even exist, or change the tone of what your message should be?

I constantly get the word "murder" offered to me after certain phrases, and I've never even used the word in a text before! Honestly, guv, and I'll stand up in any courtoom and swear to that! Where does it come from? I know it's not alive, intelligent, just an algorithm picking words from ones you've used, but where did that come from?

And why is it every time I want to write "fucking" it insists I want to write "ducking"? How many times in your life have you ever used the word "ducking" in a sentence in a text? Not to mention the words it makes up! Does this get on your nerves? Do you use autocorrect or predictive text?

this is a setting

predictive text or suggestive texting

they can do it through emojis, words and then starting off sentences with 3 or 4 words...

you can just turn it off
