A special thread, as we head into the maelstrom of the epicentre of the holiday season, for those who dislike Christmas. Post your rants, annoyances, lack of capability to understand why people love this time, anything you like.

Anyone who loves it, anyone who looks forward to snow on the ground or putting up Christmas trees or hunting for presents or cooking turkeys stay the fuck out of this thread, unless you want to be boiled in your own... well, you know how it goes.

Did you see that animated Grinch movie Trollheart? If so, did you like it more than the early 2000s Jim Carrey Grinch movie?

I actually hate Dr. Seuss with every breath in my perfectly-formed body, so no, I have not seen a single Grinch movie, nor will I ever. Not a fan of Carrey either, so that's two reasons not to watch it.

quick, Trollheart.  what's the plot of the grinch?  what does the grinch symbolize and what were his motives for the events of the story?  Do you think the grinch was justified in his actions?

If you can correctly identify all of these questions I will no longer deem you a grinch-poser

I was in M&S last week (closet Tory) and it's £85 for a turkey.

I know it's M&S and there were turkeys for less but still, that is a hell of a lot for a turkey ($106 for our corn dog munching friends).

Speaking of corn dogs, I noticed these in a store freezer recently  :laughing:

Watching the Carrey Grinch as an adult I couldn't get passed the changes to the ending which kinda  contains the whole moral of the story. The who bears are supposed to not care that their gifts were stolen.

How did a thread entitled "The Official Grinch Thread" somehow turn into a thread about the actual Grinch? I'm baffled...  :o  :o  :laughing:

I like the original animated Grinch special. Fun fact: the guy who sang "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" was also the voice of Tony the Tiger.

I've never seen any Grinch movie and don't know the story. I've avoided the JC film, really, because it looks like sitting through it would be awful.

In Norway, the Christmas movie is the Czech 1973 movie Three Wishes for Cinderella.


The grinch in this story is of course Cinderella's slightly obese and awful stepmom. She's a bitch.
