Basically, anything that doesn't show a belief in magic - science, religion, rational thinking - all the sort of things witches hate.
As well as Halloween of course.
What do you mean, you thought witches loved Halloween? You ever been caught in the annual midnight broomstick jam? It's no joke.

Idk about this one chief. Witches believe in science and religion.

But science and religion don't believe in them.  ;)

Science doesn't but religion does. They equate them to being evil/demonic.

And technically being a witch is a religion in itself, well Wiccan.

I mentioned to @Jwb recently about the book on witches and demonology I got at some antique store. It's a treasure trove of information about witch persecution and witch trials. It seems like popular conception today doesn't differentiate between witches/witchcraft and sorcery, but based on the book I've been reading, they note that proper old school 'witchcraft', as it was practiced and prosecuted in law, had an explicitly religious tie, and had to be done in commission of the devil himself. I.e. Hermione is not a witch.

How religion reacts comtemporarily to the two types often blurs the line too. I remember my very religious grandmother had a giant issue with Harry Potter and the general idea of sorcery.

Stop spoiling my thread. :P Granny Weatherwax thinks science is a load of old bunkum, and if there's a god he's probably one of the many living on The Street of Small Gods. So there.

Yeah strict Christians have issues with sorcery and believe it to be demonic the same can be said of horror movies/shows. I used to live at this lady's place when I was younger that flew off the handle at the fact that I wanted to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer in her household. She believed it was inviting evil spirits into her home.

Witchcraft in itself as a religion is more about connecting to the elements and nature than it is about the demonology aspect. Well in Wiccan and white witches where their spells are more geared towards protection and healing as opposed to curses.

Devil worship and demonology is more for Satanists.
