Quantum computers use the principles of quantum mechanics to process information in ways that classical computers can't. They rely on qubits, which can exist in multiple states simultaneously, allowing for more complex computations and parallel processing. Unlike classical bits, which are either 0 or 1, qubits can be in a state of 0, 1, or both simultaneously (superposition). This allows quantum computers to process a vast amount of information at once. Qubits can be entangled, meaning the state of one qubit can depend on the state of another, no matter how far apart they are. This correlation can be used to perform complex calculations more efficiently. Quantum computers could break widely used encryption methods (like RSA) due to their ability to factor large numbers quickly. This has led to the development of quantum-resistant encryption algorithms. They can simulate molecular interactions at a quantum level, significantly speeding up the drug discovery process by predicting how different compounds will behave. In this video, we have explained quantum computing in simple words and explained how quantum computers work.

In 2018, a secure communications app called Anom started to gain popularity among organized criminals. Soon, top tier drug traffickers were using it all over the world. Because they thought their messages were secure, smugglers and hitmen coordinated high stakes crimes across the platform. But Anom had a secret: it was secretly run by the FBI.
For years Joseph Cox has investigated the inside story of Anom, speaking to people who coded the app, those who sold it, criminals who chatted across it, and the FBI agents who surreptitiously managed it. This new talk, building on details from his recent book DARK WIRE, will include never-before-published technical details on how the Anom network functioned, how the backdoor itself worked, and how Anom grew to such a size that the FBI started to lose control of its own creation.
It will also reflect on how police have entered a new phase of compromising entire encrypted phone networks, with little to no debate from the public, and provide critical insight on what really happens when authorities introduce a backdoor into a telecommunications product.

I think One of the most tangible examples of economic cooperation between them was the Eilat-Ashkelon Pipeline Company (EAPC), which was an oil pipeline constructed in the 1960s to transport Iranian oil to Israel. They were originally 50/50 partners on the venture. One of the reasons the pipeline was built was to bypass Egypt's control of the Suez Canal after it was closed to Israeli shipping during the Arab-Israeli conflicts. That means the pipeline allowed oil to flow from Iran through the Red Sea to Israel, where it could then be refined and shipped to Europe.

Or look at this declassified and sanitized CIA document that my handler gave to me, I mean that I found in my research, this document reveals how closely Israeli and Iranian intelligence had worked together in the 1960s and even in the 1980's. Here's a quote from the CIA document: "Israel regularly sold armaments to IRan during the Shah's reign mainly small arms mortars and ammunition provided engine overhaul and maintenance support for Iran's air force an army and extended technical support to IRan's infant defense industry" redacted section. Then it says "the arms sale gave a significant boost to Israel's fledgling defense industries and barter arrangements secured much needed oil in return for arms and technical assistance" end quote. So The CIA facilitated this friendship to the degree that they could because it worked to balance against the soviets.
Much of geopolitics involves hidden motivations and alliances that we often do not learn about until many years later.
Lets make no mistake, Iran and Israel were not very public about the depth of their relationship. This was a closested friendship because of a number of reasons not least of which the potential backlash from other Muslim-majority nations if they found out about this. But behind the scenes, they worked closely together. Here's how this frinemie type situation worked. So Iran supplied Israel with oil, and in return, Israel provided military aid. This unlikely alliance was built on mutual security concerns. Classic, You scratch my back I'll tickle your fickle arrangement.

The DEF CON community challenges the status quo, bringing a diversity of perspectives and ideas to identify hidden problems and solutions. While DARPA lays claim to the origin of the ARPANET/internet, vast communities of people with different interests created its novel components. The DARPA Cyber Grand Challenge helped launch the field of vulnerability detection and remediation and numerous DARPA Cyber Fast Track program performers continue to contribute to DEF CON.
What if current vulnerabilities all magically disappeared overnight and critical infrastructure were "safe and secure" for the time being. What would come next?
In this talk, Dr. Stefanie Tompkins will discuss the value of the hacker community and many of the contributions that have come from it, as well as the growth and synergy of the two communities. She'll also explore the question of what comes next.
For a deeper dive into the real-world impacts of DARPA cyber technologies, Dr. Renee Wegrzyn, the inaugural director of the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), will join Stefanie and a moderator. They will discuss efforts that impact DEF CON areas of interest and inform ARPA-H work, from Cyber Fast Track to current work focused on securing and defending hospitals and the health tech ecosystem from cyberattacks.

Now, 25 years later, he's back with a confession and a mea culpa: "I was wrong," he says. He shares how his analysis contributed to the rise of the infamous "stop and frisk" policing policy in New York City — and shows why journalists should avoid the trap of imagining a story is ever really over. The Internet was supposed to give us access to the world's information, so that people, everywhere, would be able to know the truth. But that's not how things worked out. Instead, we have a digital deception engine of global proportions. Nothing that comes through the screen can be trusted, and even the things that are technically true have been selected, massaged, and amplified in support of someone's messaging strategy.
Deception isn't just about narratives - we see deception at every layer of the network stack, from spoofed electromagnetic signatures, to false flags in malware, to phony personas used to access networks and spread influence. They hide in our blindspots, exploit our biases, and fill our egos while manipulating our perceptions.
How do we decide what is real? This talk examines time-tested maxims that teach the craft of effective deception, and then inverts those offensive principles to provide defensive strategies. We'll explore ways to counter biases, triangulate information sources, detect narratives, and how hackers can build tools that can change the game.
At their best, hackers lift their heads up above the masses to see how the world actually works, not how it purports to work, and then take action to make the world a better place. You'll leave this talk with practical skills to do just that.

NORWAY
NATO's marines are among the toughest troops in the Alliance. But in the Arctic, tough isn't enough – marines must be unusually skilled and resilient to survive the freezing temperatures and rugged landscape.
In early 2024, marine forces from several NATO Allies got to test their mettle against the High North, putting their cold weather lessons into practice while learning new tactics from their counterparts during exercise Steadfast Defender 24. Finnish, Italian and Swedish marines worked together to stage amphibious raids on the coast of Norway, while US marines improved their survival skills inland, learning what their Nordic Allies already know: when it comes to deep snow, skis are the only way to get around.
The exercise was particularly poignant for Finland and Sweden, NATO's two newest members. Finland joined in 2023, while Sweden joined in the midst of the exercise, with many Swedish troops holding impromptu celebrations to mark their accession.
Marines need to be prepared to come ashore and defend Allied territory, no matter the time, place or climate. This short documentary follows the marines during Steadfast Defender, showing that they're more than capable of braving the elements to fulfil their mandate.

From what I can remember from watching this a few years ago the rules are surprisingly strict and the respect between teams is high. Also there looks to be at least 10 referees on the field.
I don't know how the scoring works, but I think teams score points by the "footballers" running the ball from one end of the pitch to the other, whilst the "boxers" and "wrestlers" can also score points by beating the stuffing out of each other on the pitch whilst the running game just goes on around them.
