Hoe zay is different. It's closer to mexico so makes sense.

I was this cool the whole time.

Don't think it works that way lol. You pronounce it that way cos it's Spanish. You're just not used to pronouncing Detroit the French way.

Only God knows.

Well yeah that's what I was saying Mexico is right there, Spanish but prouncing things work differently depending on how the local people pronounce it not foreigners.

For example, there is a Houston Street in NYC and they say House ton but in Texas it is pronounced Hue Ston

I was this cool the whole time.

Yeah, one of my friends is from San Pedro, California and they pronounce it "San (rhymes with tan) PEE-dro" whereas the Spanish pronunciation would be "San (kinda rhymes with Don) PAY-dro".

Also there's a college in Indiana called Notre Dame, which is pronounced "Noter Dayme" rather than the French pronunciation.

America is wacky with pronunciations sometimes.

 That was the first thing I thought of when I saw these posts and thought of different ways people pronounce places.

I was in and out of NYC frequently back in the early 90's, and one time I was looking for a nightclub located on Houston Street which I hadn't been to before. I was walking in the area and stopped to ask someone if they could direct me to Houston Street. I assumed it was pronounced the way it's pronounced in Texas, so I said it that way and the person I had asked for directions corrected me immediately on my mistake.

I've always thought people who do that are out of their minds.

I can't help wondering what percentage of them are into full-blown bestiality.

I hope Hawk is reading this from the lurky shadows lmao

Got a big luncheon with some friends coming up next Saturday and I'm going to get good at doing those curls if it's the last thing I do.
