Right now it's this. Hearing the song without the video I thought it's a Blondie single
Harp and Shamrock
by LúnasaA nostalgic moment.
Catchy and feeling great.
It was on repeat for a very long time, I need to return to listen to this more often, I am too much busy.
I love Toni's Hey Mickey 🙂 it's a fun, catchy song.
I've had this on my mind for a while:
I like it a lot, but the main reason is the part with the odd time signature that comes in after about 1:10. To get the hang of it, I counted two bars of 7/8 and then 12/8, rinse and repeat (although they'll soon mix this up too). As an ex-drummer who (in the absence of drums) likes to drum on things that aren't drums, I love weird beats, especially when they appear in music that I also find catchy in a kind of pop sensible way.
I can't see your video. What song is it?

Ugh, I hate regional content.
The song is Spleenetique by Aksak Maboul.
Right now it's this.
(Yes, I sometimes listen to more basic white girl music than I let on, haha)
Cillian Vallely & Kevin Crawford - The Birdsnostalgia :) and it's catchy
Booorrn free, as free as the wiiiind blows, as free as the graaaass grows.
I woke up with it for some reason.
^Is it that time of the month again?
Squeeze—"Hourglass"I hadn't heard this song in a million years, then I heard it somewhere the other day and I've been hearing this in my head ever since:
Take it to the bridge, throw it overboard
See if it can swim, back up to the shore
No one's in the house, everyone is out
All the lights are on and the blinds are down
Quote from: Guybrush on Apr 07, 2023, 03:29 PM^Is it that time of the month again?
Tbh it's here (and to an extent on MB) that I was reminded of how much I love this album after like 20 years. With some favorite artists (Tom Waits, Stranglers, Pixies back in the day) I have had maybe a month every couple of years that I couldn't listen to anything else. But with Kate Bush I became a huge fan when I discovered her and then probably only returned to The Dreaming, which sounds more like the stuff I'm normally into. Had a long period where piano pop wasn't really on the cards.
Also when everyone became a huge fan of hers in 2015 or whenever? that was kinda annoying!

There was a small surge of interest when she played concerts in 2014 (we were lucky enough to get tickets) and of course Running Up That Hill became super popular again last year (wasn't it?) due to the exposure from Stranger Things.
I also remember she got a bit of positive press around 2004/5 around the time Aerial came out.
The Music Machine - Cherry Cherry
Saw them open for Saint Etienne years ago

I remember a really lovely article from the Saint Etienne singer Sarah Cracknell but unfortunately no longer seems to be online (this piece (https://wfuv.org/content/saint-etienne-five-essential-kate-bush-songs) has a dead hyperlink).
Since it's a second Saint Etienne reference in as many posts I might as well post a song by them
How the hell this wasn't a single
Already posted it in mashups, can't stop listening to it.
The line "you need to chill out with that mess" is one of my favorite in any song
Proof, if proof were necessary, that a quirked up white boy and a sassy Nubian queen can make it together
We need to bring back dumb novelty songs honestly.

I really like the rhetorical conceit: "there's more to life than any one boy, more than just one face to love... there's more to it than the eternal glow of a single passion... BUT if you love me like I love you then consider the above propositions recanted!"
I overheard this one playing on a radio station an older relative was listening to and now it's an annoying earworm...
Bobby Vee - Go Away Little Girl (Original 1962 Version) (Remastered)
A very annoying song to get stuck on is this medley by Farmers Market.
Listening to any of the songs that appear in it has a chance if triggering this medley run-through in my brain.
I don't know how to post YouTube's or anything yet but I've had System Of A Down - Aerials stuck in my head for what feels like forever.

It works just like MB - you should see a square 'YouTube' button in your reply ribbon list - when you click that, it will present you with a small popup with an input to paste your Youtube link into - click 'Insert' afterwards, and voila!

Amazing, thank you! Easy peasy.
Another one of those "French girl orgasms" songs
Maybe my favorite voice in all of rock music
Wonder if @MarieMonday knows this video
Question: how do I tag someone on here? Isn't it just @ + username?
It is @username. After you type the first couple letter a list of suggestions will pop up.
@jadis @Marie Monday
Ahh so the space is part of the username, say
@jimmy jazz Got it, thanks
I love Tim & Eric. My wife and kids usually don't 😅
Tim and Eric are legends. I used to love Tom Goes to the Mayor in high school, and there are a large amount of Awesome Show bits that still live rent free in my head 15 years later.
Anyone seen The Comedy? It's one of those films that are pretty sadistic toward the viewer and that I find difficult to love, however worthy the message about hipster sociopathy

oh I love that song but had never seen the video!
Watched it again, just gets better and better. Beautiful song and such a cool video
Older but new to me - kid at work played it the other day for me.
Said it reminded him of me, lol
This!! Love my Canadian icon.

Anita Lane - Jesus almost got me
My Sharona has been playing in my brain a bit lately 😄
The simple but effective octave riff is quite clever, I think.
Mr. Waffles has been drunkenly singing this all night and it's been lodged in my head for at least the past hour.

Can't get this out of my head since spending time recently in a rural area.
Enjoying the spacious Fleetwood Mac/Lindsey Buckingham-ish production on this.
Forgot how great this song is. Can't believe it's 10 years old already, jesus time flies.
This song has been stuck in my mind for the past 2 or 3 days. I have no idea why. Can't say I dislike Simon & Garfunkel, but I've never bought or downloaded any of their albums or cared enough to want to see them play live at any time. Maybe posting it here will expunge it from my psyche...
Simon & Garfunkel - Homeward BoundOut demons, out!
^ That's the sound of your subconscious saying "These guys are so good, why haven't you got a copy of Bookends yet ?!?"

You could be right.
I can't deny their songwriting brilliance. When they were in the groove, they were as good as it gets.
Yep, as you say, some great songwriting and a style of tightly-controlled perfection in delivery made them, as some would say, "unassailable" ;)
Bookends was their best album imo.
a bit of a slow start as this is a special extended version, but by the end, it'll probably be stuck in your head too. If not, you will at least have enjoyed Erykah's quirky video "story":-
This one just popped into my head. Don't think I've listened to it for several years.
"Throw another log on the fire, boys... George Wallace is comin' to stay"...
Drive-By Truckers - Wallace
^ By coincidence, I was exploring some Drive-By Truckers recently, but was rather put off by the guy's voice tbh.
Is it my imagination or does that song have a touch of "Fever!" about it?

Always get me this one...love the lyrics :)
That will now be going around in my brain forever, well maybe just the day then.

I hadn't noticed the "Fever" similarity before but I can hear a bit of it in there. Also sounds similar to something else in parts but I can't put my finger on it at the moment.
I'm partial to their first 3 albums and I saw them perform live a couple of times in the early 2000's but I haven't kept up with them since then.
tell me does this not get in your head...please ???
Listen and weep, Trollheart!! ;) Or better still, listen and hum
