We all know how to play this, right? One letter guess per post per person, and if possible let someone else guess before you take another shot. The figure has feet and hands, stylised with just two fingers, so you have a total of 12 body parts (head, body, arm, arm, leg, leg, foot, foot, finger, finger, finger, finger) before he goes for the long drop. Each wrong guess adds a body part until he's ready to be launched into eternity, or the puzzle is solved. As each correct letter is guessed I'll fill it in here, so check the OP to see how it's doing and what letters are left.
Solved
"Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" (Elton John and George Michael) set by Trollheart, solved by Lexi
"Bullet with Butterfly Wings" (Smashing Pumpkins) set by Lexi, solved by GD
"Always Crashing in the Same Car" (David Bowie) set by GD, solved by Lexi
Next up:
TBA
I'll bite. I'm guessing the letter 't'.
Thanks for playing. A few Ts alright, filled in on the OP.
Picking "N"
Quite a few, yes. Added in the OP.
'B'.
Not a one, sorry.
"D"
D is there, yes, added in the OP.

I think I know the answer, is it "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"?
It is, yes. You save the little stick guy and now he can wait for his next date with the rope, which is up to you.
If you want, I can place your new puzzle in the OP, replacing mine, since that's solved now and you probably would prefer people to be able to find yours. Just let me know if you want to do that.
FYI: you need a well-known song, album, artist, whatever, and make sure you break it up into words then tell us how many letters in each. Also a clue is preferable. I can pop in the parts of the hangman's victim as people get them wrong.

Sure! Okay, here goes.
------ ---- --------- -----
Four words, with 6, 4, 9 and 5 letters.
The clue is it is a popular rock song from sometime in the last 30 years.
I hope I got that all right, haha.
OK well that's a pretty weak clue if you ask me - only cuts it down to what? Half a million songs or so? Still, it's your clue so I'll post all that into the OP.
Let's try a ballsy guess first then: 'W'!
There are two W's yes!
Hmm, since I can't edit the first post, I'll just do it here and
@Trollheart can update the first post at his convenience.
BULLET WITH BUTTERFLY WINGS
Edit: the answer has been guessed by GD. It's Bullet with Butterfly Wings by The Smashing Pumpkins.
Ooh, I think I might already know the answer but I'll let others guess more letters first, otherwise it's no fun
Wow got it already off of two Ws
I'll pick 'N'
Yes, there is an N. Editing my post.
Ok, so I still think my guess is correct, but don't know if I should say it since I got it early. I'll go with 'H' for now
Quote from: GD on Apr 03, 2024, 06:20 PMOk, so I still think my guess is correct, but don't know if I should say it since I got it early. I'll go with 'H' for now
There is one H!
You or DJ can feel free to guess, I'm realizing now that I must have picked too obvious of a choice haha.
OK, then :) Is it "Bullet with Butterfly Wings"?
Correct! Congrats and thanks to all who participated.
I never even heard of that, big surprise! Okay then I'll add it to the OP and then GD you're up next, so let me know what your puzzle is and I'll pop it in the OP as the next one.
Slightly busy right now, but I'll think of a puzzle to post within a day or so hopefully :)

Trolls, how have you never heard 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings'? Legendary 90s alt-rock track.
Also happens to be the track that got me obsessed with the band. Before hearing it, I'd always derided Billy's voice as 'too whiny' (it kinda is, but I now find it endearing)
The amount of music I have never heard could fill a warehouse full of warehouses. I have never, even to this day, heard a single SP song, nor have I, to be honest, any great wish to. To paraphrase Ned Flanders: "Music after the 1980s? You name it, I haven't heard it!" :D :D
Ok, I've thought of one:
A--A-- -RA-H-N- -N -HE -A-E -AR
That's 6 words with 6, 8, 2, 3, 4, and 3 letters respectively
Hint: "A fatalist anthem by a deceased icon"
edit: Solved! by Lexi. The answer was "Always Crashing in the Same Car" by David Bowie
H
Yes, there are two letters 'H' :)
A--A-- -RA-H-N- -N -HE -A-E -AR
E, yo!
A, A, ayyyy!!
'N'
Whoa whoa, slow down there people
Quote from: Guybrush on Apr 06, 2024, 12:41 AME, yo!
Correct, two E's
Quote from: SGR on Apr 06, 2024, 04:18 AMA, A, ayyyy!!
Indeed, 5 in fact!
Quote from: DJChameleon on Apr 06, 2024, 08:39 AM'N'
Yes, there are two 'N's as well :)
vvvvvvv
A__A__ __A_H_N_ _N _HE _A_E _A_
Hmm... the spaces between the letters aren't showing as separated on my computer, it's hard to tell where in each word the letters are.
This is what it looks like for me.

I agree with Lexi, perhaps hyphens (-) would be better, with the words separated by spaces?

That's what I did for my Bullet with Butterfly Wings one, so I think that would work well, yeah.
OK, sure :) I can use hyphens instead

Two of these as well
A--A-- -RA-H-N- -N -HE -A-E -AR

And is it "Always Crashing in the Same Car" by David Bowie?

Your turn again I guess :)
