First reports of the verdict didn't make the jury's reasoning clear. AFAIK, and without being too graphic, our man Trump was using his finger, not his dong, which is why they said no to rape, but yes to assault. Too me the verdict doesn't suggest that EJ Caroll was lying, but instead over-reaching with her rape accusation.

electric cars are just another way to fuck over poor people

they're not better for the environment

They are. It depends on where you get electricity, but by and large they're definitely better for the environment. Plus in order to get closer to the possibility of powering cars with green energy, you kinda have to make a move away from fossil fuels. It's a necessary step.

Maybe you can imagine the sort of discussions and conspiracy theory that's been going on here after policies were put in place to promote electric cars. It's been like that for many years now. Like.. they're cheaper when you buy them, you get to use the buss lanes, way less upkeep. Meanwhile, people who'd bought expensive fossil cars were enraged. Conspiracy theorists tried the "well, actually they're worse for the environment" argument but AFAIK that's been debunked over and over again. It flares up now and then because:

• A lot of people want electric cars to fail for some reason
• Who doesn't love the irony of something that's environmentally good turning out to be environmentally worse?

Anyways, the power in our electric grid comes from dammed water. It's better than burning oil. There's an actual reason electric cars are part of national policy here.
