Well, you know the old saying two wrongs don't make a right.

I have a lot of respect for our healthcare workers. They were on the frontlines during covid, putting themselves at risk, getting overworked, have to deal with that suffering as well as just randos from the general public which may or may not be dangerous assholes. And all for relatively little compensation. I think they deserve more.

Now, I won't make claims about healthcare workers in the US, but I have to agree that your comments against them seem too violent for one thing and like you're anyways misplacing blame and responsibility to a huge extent.

pro tip to healthcare workers: provide care

The VA can't give out Ativan sometimes even when they want to. They do provide care though but just different rules for pill prescriptions. If someone wants Ativan, they would need to be given the pills from an outside doctor and then after that get them from the VA. I have needed Ativan or any benzo pills for a long time now because I actually do need them in everyday life. I recently was at the dental part of VA and they saw I was having anxiety from the drilling and normal dental stuff and they actually gave me a 1mg pill for each time I get a filling done. So they do give them out sometimes but are just very strict about who gets them. Pain pills from the VA? no chance. You'll get 800mg of Motrin pills and that's all. Being from an infantry MOS in the marine corps I have had more VA experience than others and I just learned how they operate from back when I was on active duty with back pain to all the times as a veteran. It was always a joke with Navy corpsmen and marines, at least in my unit, that if you were in pain; change your socks and take 800mg of Motrin lol Not really lol though because 800mg Motrin doesnt do shit.

I still to this day, with anxiety daily, I cannot get any benzo pills that would help because they just haven't seen a reason good enough. Having anxiety isn't enough to get the pills, they need to really really think you deserve them. Like for teeth fillings from dental and even then, it's just one pill per dental visit. So like my most recent month I was given a small dose of Ativan for just my 2 appointments. Thinking you'll be able to get a controlled substance from the VA is wild, so that dude who shot those people was way wrong for thinking the VA would give them to him. There is no reason to harm people if they don't give you the pills you want. It's not that the VA doesnt want to give you the medication you need it boils down to them not being allowed to since it goes through many people at the VA to finally get a controlled substance. My psych doctor wanted to give me anxiety pills way back but was only allowed to give me an off-brand Benadryl. BUT, from my understanding, IF you were given a controlled substance as a benzo from a non-VA doctor or something; then the VA would have zero problems giving you them refilled. It just comes to if something went wrong, like an addiction or something, that since they were from a non-VA doctor then the blame doesn't fall onto them at the VA.

News Alert: WHO says Covid-19 is no longer a global health emergency


Covid-19 is no longer a global health emergency, the World Health Organization said on Friday.

WHO's International Health Regulations Emergency Committee discussed the pandemic on Thursday at its 15th meeting on Covid-19, and WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus concurred that the public health emergency of international concern, or PHEIC, declaration should end.

"For more than a year the pandemic has been on a downward trend," Tedros said at a news conference Friday.

"This trend has allowed most countries to return to life as we knew it before Covid-19," Tedros said. "Yesterday, the emergency committee met for the 15th time and recommended to me that I declare an end to the public health emergency of international concern. I have accepted that advice."
